Best Resident Evil 4 Remake mods

Before we list the best Resident Evil 4 Remake mods, note that you are only able to mod the PC (and Steam Deck) version of the RE4 Chainsaw Demo currently. So if you're playing the demo on console, you have no choice but to play vanilla.

Here are the best RE4 Remake mods so far:

Church Bell No More (Chainsaw Demo mod)

You know the worst thing about the Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo? That it ends. Well, the Church Bell No More mod by praydog solves that issue, allowing you to play the opening village section for as long as you want.

Usually, the demo ends once the church bell rings, but the mod puts a stop to that - now you can kill an endless horde of Ganado. The mod also includes optional features such as infinite ammo and durability, meaning you can explore the village to your heart's content without fear of dying.

You can download the Church Bell No More mod on NexusMods.

Leon RE2R Outfit

If you don't like Leon S. Kennedy's outfit in Resident Evil 4 Remake, you can switch into his Resident Evil 2 Remake clothes using the Leon RE2R Outfit mod by HOLS.

It replaces the protagonist's iconic brown leather jacket with his Raccoon Police Department uniform from his time as a new cop in Raccoon City, so if you prefer Leon in his RE2 threads, this is the mod for you.

You can download the Leon RE2R Outfit mod on NexusMods.

Original 2005 Game Suit

Nostalgic for the original Resident Evil 4 from 2005? Well, you're in luck because this mod replaces Leon's clothes with his outfit from the GameCube classic, polygons and all.

Created by HOLS, the mod turns back the clock 18 years (feel old yet?), making it feel as though you're back in the mid-00s, just with better graphics and gameplay.

You can download the Original 2005 Game Suit on NexusMods.

Tint Remover

If you're not a fan of the blue tint overlay Resident Evil 4 Remake has, you'll definitely want to install the Tint Remover mod by SilverEzredes. While the visuals have been tinted to add effect, it does obscure vision slightly - this stops that by adding more brown and green tones to offset it.

That said, this mod may not appeal to you if you're all about the fear factor. It's one of those "your mileage may vary" ones, so only install this if you prefer more natural-looking visuals.

You can download the Tint Remover mod on NexusMods.

SIG P226R Elite

Calling all RE5 sickos for this one. The SIG P226R Elite mod by ShadowWolfTR replaces Leon's SG-09 R handgun with the iconic semi-automatic weapon from Resident Evil 5. Gone are the days of having a dull gun, replaced with one of a higher caliber and a gorgeous redwood body to boot.

Because if you have to kill humans infected with a deadly parasite, you may as well do it in style, right?

You can download the SIG P226R Elite mod on NexusMods.
