99 Nights in the Forest All Craftable Items

Not all craftable items are useful, and some really aren't worth the effort. Here's every craftable item currently in the game, a guide on how to build it, and some info on whether or not we think it's useful.

Crafting Bench 1 All Items

ItemMaterials neededInfo

Map
3 Wood LogsPretty much mandatory. Once you place the map, simply use the Map option to know where you are. It helps you know where you've been and where else you can explore. Build as soon as you can.

Old Bed
20 Wood LogsNot Mandatory, but you should still get this when you have nothing better to build. The Old Bed increases your Day counter by +1 each day. Not necessary for progression unless you just want to boost your Day counter (and let's face it, we all do)
Bunny Trap5 Wood LogsYou can place the Bunny Trap near any Bunny Burrows.

Crafting Bench 2 Upgrade
1 Scrap, 5 Wood LogsMandatory. Build this ASAP.

Sundial
5 ScrapNice to have, but not mandatory. After you place it in your base, the Sundial gives you a timer of how long the day is going to last and how long until nighttime is over. Again, it's nice to have, but you can live without it.
Regular Bed5 ScrapThe better form of the Old Bed that also increases the Day Counter by +1

Compass
3 ScrapPretty much useless if you have the Map. You don't really need to know which direction you need to go since you can see everything on the Map.
Freezer4 ScrapA neat blue freezer that is used to store your collected food.

Farm Plot
10 Wood LogsNot as crucial as the Map, but still very much useful. In general, you can fill your hunger bar more by cooking food and eating berries and carrots you find around the Map. Much later in the game, you can use the Carrots that grow here with the Biofuel Processor to make fuel for the Campfire.

Wood Rain Storage
5 ScrapNot necessary. You can simply go out and get more Wood if you ever need more. This can keep logs from getting soaked when it rains, but that's about it. You can live without it.

Shelf
2 ScrapEven less useful than the Wood Rain Storage. Sure, you can organize items neatly on a Shelf, but you can just leave them on the ground, and nothing bad will happen to them. Pretty much useless.
Log Wall12 Wooden WallIndicative of its name, these are Log Walls that can be built around your base to keep predators out of the base.

Bear Trap
3 ScrapAbsolutely useless. They do minimal damage; you can step on them and get hurt but you need to reactivate them whenever they spring. Save your Scrap for literally anything else.

Crafting Bench 3 Upgrade
10 Scrap, 15 Wood LogsMandatory. Build ASAP.

Crack Pot
10 Scrap, 15 Wood LogsUnless you have a teammate who likes preparing food, you can absolutely live without this. Combine three pieces of food and create Stew, which you can store in your hotbar. It's nice to have, but you can just eat Berries and Meat, and you'll be just fine.

Boost Pad
10 Scrap, 15 Wood LogsAs cool as it is to get a running start from your base, this is a waste of resources. After each use, you have to recharge it, it doesn't last long, and you can only have one. We don't recommend you get this.

Biofuel Processor
12 Scrap, 12 Wood LogsNice to have when your base is running out of building space, but not Mandatory. We recommend having at least one once you've upgraded the Crafting Bench to level 4.

Torch
6 Scrap, 6 Wood LogsNice to have when your base is running out of building space, but not Mandatory. We recommend having at least one once you've upgraded the Crafting Bench to level 4.

Good Bed
10 Scrap, 10 Wood LogsSame as the Old Bed, only costs more. Build this when you have nothing better to make so your Day counter gets higher by another +1.

Lightning Rod
8 ScrapNice to have when your base is running out of building space, but not Mandatory. We recommend you have at least one once you get the Crafting Bench 4 Upgrade.
Radar10 Scrap 15 Wood LogsSacrifice some Scrap materials to know the location of other strongholds or crafting areas (15 scraps per scan)

Crafting Bench 4 Upgrade
20 Scrap, 30 Wood Logs, 2 Cultist MedallionsMandatory. Build ASAP.

Crafting Bench 4 All Items

ItemMaterials neededInfo

Ammo Crate
20 Scrap, 30 Wood Logs, 2 Cultist MedallionsAmazing to have, but unfortunately, not necessary. By the end of the game, you'll probably find a bunch of ammo no matter where you go. With that said, you can trade 3 Scrap for either a box of Revolver or Rifle ammo, which is really great to have.

Oil Drill
35 Scrap, 25 Wood Logs, 1 Cultist MedallionWith this, you pretty much never have to worry about looking for fuel for the fire. The Oil Rig will give you an Oil Barrel every day, which is more than enough to keep the fire going for all eternity.

Giant Bed
30 Scrap, 20 Wood Logs, 1 Cultist MedallionJust like with all previous beds, it increases the Day counter by +1. Build it when you have nothing better to build.

Teleporter
25 Scrap, 15 Wood Logs, 1 Cultist MedalionPretty much useless. Sure, it's great that you can teleport from one end of the map back to your base, but... why would you want to do that? After all, it's not like anything in this game respawns, and it's not like you need to go back to explored areas. Not to mention, you need to build two of these to make them work. Just skip it.
Crafting Bench 5 Upgrade50 Scrap, 50 Wood Logs, 1 Gem of the ForestUpgrade your current Crafting Bench to Level 5

Crafting Bench 5 All Items

ItemMaterials NeededInfo
Respawn Capsule40 Scraps, 40 Wood Logs,1 Gem of the ForestThe next person to die after recharging the capsule will spawn inside the capsule, allowing you to continue your game
Temporal Accelerometer40 Scraps, 40 Wood Logs,1 Gem of the ForestYou can entirely skip the next night in the game after charging
Weather Machine40 Scraps, 40 Wood Logs,1 Gem of the ForestYou will not be affected by rain or any thunderstorm for the next 3 days after charging

How to get better tools

99 Nights in the Forest always places you on a randomly generated map, so every run is going to be different. With that said, there are two main methods to get better equipment and tools in the game.

  • Find them in chests, containers, and sheds
  • Trade fur from the Fur Trader

We recommend you simply explore, and eventually, you should have everything you could possibly need. Just check every chest you find, and you shouldn't have any problems getting an upgrade for your Sack, Axe (maybe even a Chainsaw), Rifle, Spear, and Pistol. Seriously, there is enough for every player.

If you want a surefire way to get some of these items, you can trade with the Pelt Trader. He comes every few evenings, and you can give him furs of increasing rarity to get some upgrade items from him. The furs you need go in this order:

Rabbit Foot - Wolf Pelt - Alpha Wolf Pelt - Bear Pelt

Of course, you actually need to have the Pelts, which don't always drop, and you actually need to have the Fur Trader appear, which doesn't always happen. For these reasons, we recommend that you simply go out and look for the items yourself.

There you have it. Have fun surviving and crafting in 99 Nights in the Forest. If you're still having trouble surviving, check out our 99 Nights in the Forest Tips and Tricks for Beginners as well as How to find the Fairy on Pro Game Guides.
