In Fisch, Companions are pets that can be equipped to your existing build that provide some sort of buffs or perks to make fishing a lot easier. Each Companion can be unlocked by visiting different locations & performing certain tasks. So, here is a dedicated guide listing all 10 Companions in Fisch, along with a quick method to unlock them.
Nico Cat - Underground Music Venue
The Nico Cat would likely be the first Companion you would receive and equip if you have already completed atleast part 2 of the the Old Cat Lady Quest inside the Underground Music Venue for the Nico’s Yarncaster Rod. So, head to the location and finish the quest upto the part 2 section to recieve the Nico Cat as a reward.
The Tropical Toucan - Lost Jungle
For the Tropical Toucan, head towards the Lost Jungle POI. Here, on the island, go to the GPS location (-2924,275, -2149) to find the Tropical Toucan Cube on the root part of a tree. Equip the Centipede, Snail, or any bait from the Lost Jungle POI in your hand and gift it to unlock the Companion. Sometimes, you have to gift multiple baits before you can befriend it.
Gary Gator - Mushgrove Swamp
This is another easy pet to get in Fisch. Travel straight to the Mushgrove Swamps. Here, head towards the Alligator Marsh (2653, 132,-751) to spot the Gary Gator during early sunrise time in the marsh area. Equip the Shark Head Bait and wait for the Gator to come near you to bite the Bait and Befriend it. You can use the Sundial Totem to switch between day and night quickly.
Beak Bill - Dock Area (Any Island)
The Beak Bill spawns and roams in the dock area of any POI especially Moosewood mainly during the night-time. So, explore the dock area of all the islands during the night time to locate a Beak Bill. Once you locate the Companion, give it any fish above Legendary level to befriend it. I gave him a blessed Sawfish to make him my buddy.
Silly Seal - Northern Expedition
Travel straight to the Northern Expedition and go to the Northern Summit Island. Here, outside the POI, you will find small ice plates or broken pieces of ice with multiple Seals roaming on top. Go near any Silly Seal and gift it a fish above Legendary level to make it happy + befriend you. During your initial few tries, it will get scared and run away. If it happens, wait for 5 minutes and try with another fish until you make him your Companion.
Penguin Pal - Snowcap Island
Unlike other Companions, the Penguin Pal is slightly tricky to obtain as it's RNG-based. Firstly, go to Snowcap Island and then purchase the Krill Bait from the Merchant room which is right above the Shipwright NPC. Next, head to the Snowburrow secret POI at GPS 2865, 141, 2557. Here, place down Reinforced Cage Crab or anything better with the Krill Bait. If you are lucky, you will get the Penguin Pal Companion in no time.
Plunderbeak - Forsaken Shores
For Plunderbeak, you must have the Scurvy Rod, have opened 10 treasure maps, and finished the Forsaken Shores Bestiary. If you have met all of these conditions, you can equip the Scurvy rod and stand at -2629, 161, 1643 to attract one of the several birds towards you to become your Companion. If you have even missed one condition, none of them will flow towards your direction.
Flopping Salmon - The Ocean
The Flopping Salmon is an RNG-based companion. Take your boat to the open ocean. Pop out a Tempest Totem, and when it starts raining, try to fish normally until a Flopping Salmon comes into your hand automatically. Remember, rainy weather boosts your chances of getting a Flopping Salmon. Without that, it will take quite a few tries to get the Companion.
Little Meg- Ancient Isle
The Little Meg is another easy pet to obtain. Firstly, wait for the Megladon Hunt to begin in the game. You can wait until it spawns naturally or use the Megalodon Hunt Totem to start the Event. When it starts, equip your Fish Radar and go to the location where you can find a small blue glowling baby Meg circling the large one around the pool. Now, perfect catch the Megalodon to get the Little Meg as your buddy.
Mutated Sharky - The Depths
Enter the Depths and during the peak Darkness Event, which can be spawned using the Oniriflax Rod. On the Ocean floor, you can find a green fish roaming around the area. Equip a rod with a very low lure speed and equip the Shark Head. Wait for the Mutated Sharky to come near your rod and then interact with it to catch it.
Fisch Companions FAQs
At any moment, you can only equip one Companion or Pet in Fisch. However, in future updates, there will be more slots to equip multiple Companions at a time in the game.
There are 10 Companions in Fisch at the moment. However, the developers plan to add more pets in future updates. I predict that the developers will add at least one pet per update each week.
The Mutated Sharky & Little Meg are the most challenging companions to get in Fisch. Both of them require you to have specific sets of rods or Totems to begin, making it tough to obtain compared to the other 8 on the list.
