If you ever wondered why you can't cook the food you scavange during your runs in Deadly Delivery, you'll be glad to know that cooking is finally here, and there's a bunch of recipes for you to discover, so that's why our cooking guide is here to help you with everything you need to know to get you started!
How to Unlock the Cooking Station

Once you spawn in the game, you can go left through the fence, and you'll see a food truck, which will be your base of cooking operations. But before you can start preparing your meals, you'll first need to unlock the cooking station by completing a rescue mission.
- You'll need to save Gordon, the head chef, who'll teach you how to cook the food you loot.
- To save him, you need to reach sublevel five and find him tied up in one of the rooms. Interact with him to untie him, and he'll follow you back to the elevator, so escort him back safely.
- Make sure to explore every room on the floor so you don't miss him. He has a very high chance of spawning there, but if you're unlucky, it's best to get back to the surface and start over.
Once you go back to the surface after rescuing him, the food truck will be open, and you can talk to Gordon. In front of him, you'll find slots reserved for cooking pots, the first of which you can purchase for $500.
Cooking Recipes

Once you're ready to start making dishes, interact with one of the cooking pots, and a menu will pop up. To the left, you'll see all the available dishes you can make, but they won't show the ingredients or if they have any effects when eaten.
You can select up to four ingredients from your inventory and mix them together in the pot to discover them for yourself, or you can just follow our list in the table below.

Depending on the recipe and the quality of the ingredients, it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours to complete the dish. If you did everything correctly, you'll get your dish and can choose whether to eat it or sell it.
They're usually not really worth selling, with most of them not gaining you any additional value and, in a lot of cases, actually losing you money. I recommend you only cook the food you want to eat for their buffs, and treat the rest as a one-time thing to complete their album entry.
Cooking Tips & Tricks
We've prepared some tips to help you maximize your cooking output and minimize waste.
- Make sure to loot as much as you can on each floor - This might seem obvious, but let's face it, we've all stopped picking up the humble $5 potato after the third floor or so, but now it and a lot of other common foods have a lot more value due to the cooking system, with the potato being an ingredient for the Hoover Stew.
- Only use ingredients without affixes if possible - Higher-value versions of an ingredient affect the dish's price, but not by much. Most of the time, you'll be losing money if you use food with affixes when cooking, while the buffs they provide are unaffected.
- Fire up your cooking pots before each run - Because it takes a while to cook stuff, it's best to leave the fire burning while you're exploring the underground.
- Avoid failing the mini game - Every time you want to cook something, you'll have to mash a button to keep the marker in the green spot. While simple, it can be quite unforgiving and laggy at times, so pay close attention.
- Always eat something before a run - While the buffs they give are minor, they are very useful to have and can help you to survive the descent, with the effects lasting between 30 minutes and an hour.
- Always eat the Hoover Stew before selling your items - If you have the materials to make it, you should always eat it when selling your loot, because it gives you a +3% boost to the sell value of all items for the next five minutes. It's well worth it, since the ingredients used aren't very valuable on their own.

No, it's not needed for any type of progression or unlock in the game currently, except for filling up your album, so you don't have to engage with it. It's recommended that you do so because it will help you explore and even increase the value of your items.
