How to play the Red Lantern, Green Lantern minigame in Adopt Me!
Red Lantern, Green Lantern (based on the Red Light, Green Light game that was popularized by the Netflix show Squid Games) is a competitive, player vs player minigame that challenges you to explore an arena guarded by a sentient statue and collect as many bowls of Rice Cake Soup as you can without being detected by said statue.
When the statue is facing away from you, you're free to move around and pick up bowls of soup—when the statue turns toward you, you must freeze immediately and hold still until it turns away from you again.
If you fail to freeze fast enough and a statue sees you, you will be teleported back to the start of the arena and forced to drop any bowls you were holding. Once you've collected a max of three bowls of soup, you'll need to take them to the Safe Area to exchange them for points.
At the end of the minigame, you will be awarded Yakgwa based on how many bowls you were able to deliver.
What is Lunar New Year and what does the Year of the Dragon mean?
Lunar New Year (or Spring Festival as its referred to in China, Tết as its referred to in Vietnam, and Seollal as its referred to in Korea) is a 15-day festival that celebrates the beginning of the new year for those who follow a traditional lunisolar calendar. Each year the Chinese zodiac recognizes one of twelve sacred animals to represent the coming months and offer a look into the future—for 2024, it's the Year of the Dragon.
From Feb. 10, 2024, to Jan. 28, 2025, it's observed within the Chinese zodiac that those with the Dragon sign, or those born in 2024, 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, 1964, 1952, 1940, or 1928, will be blessed with a prosperous year of good fortune, luck, and hope. Dragons, or those born in a Year of the Dragon, are typically seen as very powerful, noble, confident, intelligent, and ambitious people.
