Anime Squadron Tier List [Update 1.5] – Best Units Ranked

Check out our Anime Squadron tier list with the latest units from the update 0.5.

Updated: July 12, 2026: The best characters in Anime Squadron for end-game as of 1.5 update are Gometa (SSJ4), Gometa (Blue), Freezer (Golden), Beby (Super), Bralu (Legendary), Boros (Meteoric Burst), Berserker (Enraged), Fastwagon and Woo (Shadow) - The teams hinge on Beby giving Dragonball characters defense buffs per unit and 2% damage per unit in range, and also the two Gometas and Bralu giving pretty crazy buffs based on Element and Protagonist/Antagonist tags as of 1.5. Berserker (Enraged) and Boros just deal crazy damage, so you can slot him in instead of any you don't have, based on your needs. Fastwagon should be added to all stages, as the Yen generation is simply too strong and needed to upgrade all the other units. Pick and choose based on the stage and elemental bonuses/maluses. Slot in the other S tier characters based on need.

Recommended Videos

Since you probably will focus on getting Gometa (Blue) having Woo is pretty unlikely but if you do - he is the undisputed king of speed farming lower stages, reaching speeds of 10 seconds in GT stages which gives you a pretty good source of farmable Gems for summoning.

Note: Bear in mind that some of these are aspirational, endgame units that you will need to farm, so it is unlikely you will be able to collect all of them in a short timespan. Hence, the other "not best" units are also S-tier, since you will need a combination of them to effectively farm the ultimate endgame team.

What Do the Tier Rankings Mean in Our Anime Squadron Tier List?

The Anime Squadron tier list represents the overall power of each unit, factoring in end-game viability, how much they speed up progression and clear times, and how cleanly they slot into full Squadron setups. It does not rank units by drop rate or how hard they are to obtain, though we do flag standout units that are both easy to get and high in the rankings. Treat it as a guide to which characters are worth investing in for current and upcoming content.

  • S Tier (15) - Units you should use at every opportunity, scaling all the way into endgame.
  • A Tier (10) - Units that stay useful from the early game into endgame in most setups.
  • B Tier (8) - Units that are useful from early to mid-game.
  • C Tier (7) - Units to use only very early, then replace as soon as you can.
  • D Tier (5) - Units to skip unless they are the only option you have.

Anime Squadron S Tier (Meta Units)

Character & RoleWhy This TierSuggested Usage
Anime Squadron Berserker
Berserker (Enraged)
Main Damage Dealer
Berserker's damage scales with how low his HP drops and how many allies have fallen, with an emergency heal when he gets low enough. Top tier DPS and any team will be able to use it.Almost mandatory for the current 0.75 end-game maps. Otherwise, interchangeable with Gometa as the main DPS, depending on the map element.

Top tier pick for end-game squads as main DPS

Gometa (SSJ4)
Main Damage Dealer / Buffer
Amazing DPS on it's own, with the main appeal being how easy this powerful unit is to get - it is very farmable, and it's 30% protagonist and 10% divine element damage boosts to the whole team.End-game squads for any content, especially when you need a Divine unit. Interchangeable with Berserker as the main DPS depending on the map element.

Top-tier pick for end-game squads, especially with more Dragon Ball units. Amazing global damage boosts for Protag/Divine units.
A Tier unit in Anime Squadron Gometa Blue
Gometa
(Blue)
Speed/Flying/Buffer
Amazing speed farming unit and really good to bring along on hazardous terrain. Its main appeal, however, is the 30% Dragon and 10% Water damage boosts for the whole team. The only downside is the fact that it is a 0.005% drop.Top-tier pick for any full end-game squads especially Dragon Ball teams, and great Dragon/Water boost.

Bralu (Legendary)
Sub DPS / Buffer
Amazing DPS and Tank on it's own merit, and a unit you will build teams around due to his 30% antagonist and 10% nature element damage boost.End-game squads for all the hardest content farming. Especially Dragon Ball teams. Really good Antagonist/Nature element boost.
Anime Squadron Puppeteer
Puppeteer
(Transcendent)
Aggro Tank
Puppeteer brings massive HP regen and a debuff that boosts his own output. He is also easy to farm, since everything you need drops on the Katakara Bridge Challenge.End-game squads for any content.

Woo
(Shadow)
Main Damage Dealer/Speed
One of the fastest units in the game, apart from dealing crazy damage, which makes him ideal for clearing stages quickly.Speed farming and Infinite mode.
Anime Squadron Falcon
Falcon (Dark)
Sub DPS/Money
Alongside Fastwagon, one of the only units that helps with Yen generation, so Falcon earns a slot in almost any squad. The passive boost works without investment or awakening, but unlike Fastwagon he also deals damage, so he is worth upgrading once the rest of your roster is built.End-game squads, and an early boost to Yen generation.
A Tier Beby Super
Beby
(Super)
Support/Sub DPS

Top-tier support unit for later stages, especially since most other top-tier units are Dragon Ball - for which he offers a substantial defense boost. Also provides a generic 10% damage boost to everyone provided he is surrounded by 5 allies.
End game Damage increase support, particularly good for full Dragon Ball teams if that's a setup you have as that also boosts defense
Shinks S Tier unit in Anime Squadron
Shinks
Utility/Support
Shinks is the best pure support in the game, offering an AoE damage increase and the ability to stall incoming waves.End-game squads, and an early damage boost for any team.

Fastwagon money farming unit in Anime Squadron
Fastwagon
Money
Fastwagon is the only dedicated money generator, and he earns income without needing kills. He is invaluable early and still earns a filler slot in endgame setups, since his economy output is strong even though he deals no damage.Useful at every stage, especially paired with the Money Maker item set.
Baras S tier list for Anime Squadron Roblox
Baras
(Meteoric Burst)
Main Damage Dealer
Baras will be a mainstay in your water-based team for his amazing clear and stacking crit damage, which will be useful for bosses. He requires crit gear to really make him shine, but once you have a good set, he will melt stages you put him inBest to be used for end-game squads, especially when you need water-based units. Works really well with Garu, who is also a water-based unit
Anime Squadron Skeleton Knight
Skeleton Knight
(Resonance)
Tank
Skeleton Knight is an extremely tanky support unit that can link to a damage dealer and share its HP pool to boost their survivability. He also deals damage based on damage taken, so he holds up well in boss fights.End-game setups as the main tank, ideally linked to one of your top damage dealers.
S Tier Garu Anime Squadron
Garu
(Half-Monster)
Sub DPS
Garu is going to be a staple in any current and future water teams as a Sub DPS, specifically for boss killing, due to the nature of his stacking Corruption de-buff. Also worth noting is his ability to ignore stuns and even deal damage when he gets stunned. These setups work best for end-games, where you need a boss killer, ideally a team with more de-buffers, as he does 15% (20% if marked) more damage per status effect on enemies
Anime Squadron Freezer Golden
Freezer (Golden)
DPS/Crowd Control
Freezer features a unique playstyle which might be tricky to get going but in general, due to Dragon Ball based teams being so damn powerful, you will want to try and fit him into your teamsEnd-game teams which heavily feature Dragon Ball characters

Akoza (Demon)
DPS
Very strong Poison based damage dealer, good when stacked with other DoT damage dealers. Very very good for Farming Bralu or any stage with bosses that have shields on them, as it does bonus damage to shieldsFarming Bralu and any stages that have enemies which feature strong shields

Sub DPS
Rizutto is a decent DPS, especially against bosses, but you are better off investing in scaling units like Goki or Vegata.Early to mid-game progression, and boss fights.

Mamosa
Utility/Support
Mamosa adds a nice protective layer early on with her AoE heal, but she does not scale well once damage numbers get big in later stages.Early to mid-game progression.
Zemitsu unit in Anime Squadron
Zemitsu
DPS
Zemitsu is a fairly common unit with some attack speed and good early line clear, but he is overshadowed quickly and not worth much investment.A solid early speed-clear unit.

Which Characters Should Beginners Choose in Anime Squadron?

The characters beginners should use in Anime Squadron mostly come down to what you can get your hands on early, but a few standouts are worth prioritizing:

  • Zemitsu is solid early thanks to faster attacks than most other common pulls.
  • Falcon gives you a big boost to money generation, and the passive works with zero investment. Upgrade him only if you want the extra damage on top.
  • Fastwagon for his outstanding money generation, a skill unique to him.
  • Mamosa for her AoE healing.
  • Rudaus for his AoE cooldown reduction.
  • If you pull Karashi, invest in him for his excellent clear speed.
  • Vegata and Goki are worth investing in as soon as you get them, since you will need them for Gometa, one of currently the best unit in the game.
  • If you pull Shield Hero, he will be your top tank until you reach Gometa, Puppeteer or Skeleton Knight.
  • Vargil has good support potential if you get your hands on him and is very low investment (no need to awaken him)
  • Beby is a really good support unit for future investment, especially for Dragon ball based teams, due to his 30% damage boost to surrounding units

Best Anime Squadron Team Composition

Once you have a few S-tier units, the goal is to build a squad that covers damage, debuffs, survivability, and economy at the same time rather than stacking carries. Here is a flexible endgame template built around the strongest units and the synergies in this list:

Absolutely necessary units: With the release of 1.5 and new passives, Gometa (Blue), Gometa (SSJ4), and Bralu (Legendary) all feature a 30%/10% damage boost depending on unit tag/element, so you will want your teams to feature at least one, if not all, of these. Then you will build the rest of the team around them

DPS: Baras (Meteoric Burst), Berserker (Enraged), Freezer (Golden) are all amazing DPS units, along with both Gometas and Bralu

Support: Beby (Super) gives 2% damage buff per unit in range and for your Dragon ball based teams additional defense boosts. Shenks and Vargil give pretty decent damage-taken debuffs to enemies in range (With Vargil being easily available from the current Battle Pass)

Tank: Skeleton Knight (Resonance) linked to your main carry to share its HP pool, or Shield Hero before your top units come online. Puppeteer is also a very good tank you should aim for having available.

Economy: Fastwagon for steady income plus Falcon (Dark) for the Yen boost, ideally with the Money Maker set equipped.

Speed farming: swap in Woo (Shadow) or Karashi (Sharingan) when you just need fast clears.

If you are still early, a reliable starter squad leans on Zemitsu for damage, Fastwagon and Falcon for economy, and Mamosa and Rudaus for healing and cooldown reduction until your higher-tier pulls arrive.

What Changed in the Version 1.5 (Release) Meta

Version 1.5 of Anime Squadron brings with it many new units - Most of which are not strong to shift the meta. The standout is definitely Akaza (Demon), which - if you get cloner on it, will absolutely be necessary to speed up farming Bralu and any future stages that feature units with shield, so do not miss out on him.

The big news, though, is that now Gometa (SSJ4), Gometa (Blue), and Bralu (Legendary) got amazing passive buffs for 30% and 10% damage each, for Protagonist/Divine, Dragon/Water, and Antagonist/Nature, respectively, shooting them instantly all to cement their S tier for the foreseeable future, unless something way stronger comes out so in case you're missing any of them - get to farming!

Due to Beby and the other Dragon Ball units having huge buffs in this patch, Freezer now also shoots up to S tier as he will increase the buff strength, and also benefit from them.

Tanjaro and Nezuko are pretty decent if you want to fill your mid-game team with more units, and they work pretty well together, serving as a decent frontline with their heals/survivability (until you get a better tank).

Some units have moved down to A tier (Madora, Shenron) due to the fact that the new units will simply provide more damage in an end-game setup, but do not discount these units when farming the better ones!

Rengoku might be decent for DoT based teams for boss killing, if you choose to go this route.

Anime Squadron Tier List FAQ

Who is the best unit in Anime Squadron?

Gometa (SSJ4 and Blue) and Bralu (Legendary) due to their team-wide buffs added with the 1.5 update. The best DPS are Berserker (Enraged), Baras (Meteoric Burst), and Freezer (Golden). Woo (Shadow) is the strongest pick for speed farming thanks to its raw damage and movement.

How do you get Gometa in Anime Squadron?

Gometa is the payoff for investing in the Goki (SSJ4 Full Power) and Vegata (SSJ4 Full Power) line, so awaken and level both as soon as you pull them. That is why they sit in A tier despite being outclassed as standalone damage dealers.

Is this Anime Squadron tier list updated for the 1.5 update?

Yes. This list reflects the 1.5 release meta, which added Akaza into the S tier specifically when fighting shielded enemies. Additionally Gometa (Blue), and Bralu (Legendary) got added to S Tier due to their updated passive with massive damage buffs for the whole team based on traits/tags.

What is the best team in Anime Squadron?

A strong endgame squad features a combination of Either of the two Gometas (Blue and SSJ4), Bralu, Baras, Berserker, Freezer, Beby, Fastwagon and then filled based on the stage with other prominent S tier units (based on elemental requirements). Adjust your teams accordingly to which ones you have, as some of these units are aspirational and will take a while to grind out.

What does Fastwagon do in Anime Squadron?

Fastwagon is the only dedicated money generator and earns income without needing to land kills, which makes it useful at every stage. It pairs best with the Money Maker item set for a much larger economy boost.
