Bloxburg transitioning to free to play model, rewards promised for buyers

Bloxburg will become free this Week!

Ever since the purchase of Bloxburg by the Embracer Group in 2022, there has been this ongoing rumor about the experience adapting the F2P model. Well, that rumor eventually turned out to be accurate, as the game is available to play for free starting this week!

Yes, you heard me right! The popular Roblox Experience Bloxburg will no longer cost 25 Robux and will be available to play for free to all players from June 15, 2024. This transition is a welcoming note, as the game has seen a dip in player count for the past two years compared to Brookhaven and Berry Avenue, who are market leaders in the roleplaying genre.

Also, to compensate for the existing premium players, the Bloxburg developers have announced exclusive in-game rewards. These rewards will be automatically available to the players once they log in to the game. You can find the list of all the rewards below.

  • Early Bloxburger (Name Tag)
  • Comfort Master S-500 (Vehicle)
  • Beta Trophy (Achievement Trophy)

To be frank, I am highly disappointed with the rewards for the old premium players, as the only thing interesting from the list is the Comfort Master S-500 Vehicle, and the rest are only tags and achievements that are of no use inside the game except for showing off to new players.

Mixed Reaction from the Bloxburg Community

The Current Blox Bloxburg community has mixed reactions to the game going free in the past few days. Some people genuinely want the game to become free as they want other people to experience the in-depth gameplay mechanics and roleplaying features in the game. They feel this influx of new players will only compel the developers to build more such features on top of the available ones, making it a much-polished title than before

Others express the opinion that there should be segregation between the free and premium players as they are afraid of the various exploits and hacks that come with the launch of the F2P model, which can destroy the entire existing ecosystem of roleplaying in Bloxburg.

As a Bloxburg player myself, I find both opinions sound, and I feel only time will decide the fate of Bloxburg in the coming days. Let's hope for the best!
