In a survival game like Dead Sails, it is essential to pick the right class that suits your gameplay style to get the appropriate buffs/perks and stay in the game for a long time. So, here is a tier list ranking all the classes in Dead Sails from the best to the worst in the game.
All Classes Tier List in Dead Sails
Below, you can find all the classes in Dead Sails ranked according to their overall potential in helping a solo player or a team player to survive the longest in the game.
Tier | Class Name |
---|---|
S | Necromancer, Trader |
A | Pyromancer, Screwloose |
B | Rich, Priest, Gunslinger, Medic |
C | Miner |
D | Pirate |
S- Tier
- Necromancer: The Necromancer is the best class in Dead Sails because of the ability to summon dead enemies and act as your allies. This is great for people who love to fight, especially against bosses like the Kraken.
- Trader: Many people would rate Trader as an A-Tier Class, but for me, it is an S-Tier class as you can farm money due to the increased value while selling objects at the outpost, allowing you to buy more items and survive for a longer time.
A- Tier
- Pyromancer: The Pyromancer is another useful class that allows you to convert all the items in the game as fuel, including your dead teammates. While this may look like a goofy class, it is the exact class you need when you are aiming to push for your high scores.
- Screwloose: The Screwloose class provides you with extra movement speed while looting objects. Combined with something like a grenade, you can quickly clear a room within seconds and proceed to the next area.
B- Tier
- Rich: Indicative of its name, the rich class allows you to start with more money, which, in turn, will enable you to spend more on essential equipment like coal, weapons, and other healing abilities to survive longer.
- Priest: The Priest spawns with the Crucifix object that allows you to kill any NPC for free in the game. It is a handy item that comes in handy during intense combat situations where a large mob of enemies surrounds you.
- Gunslinger: The Gunslinger is one of the best beginner classes in Dead Sails because you will begin with a random gun and a random ammo, saving an ample amount of money for fuel and having some protection from the start.
- Medic: Similar to the Gunslinger, the Medic is another great class that is extremely useful for newbies as you spawn with healing items, and you randomly drop more healing items over time. This is effective both for squad-based gameplay and during solo playtime.
C- Tier
- Miner: Equipping the Miner Class enables you to spawn with 4 Dynamites at the start. Dynamites are handy tools that are useful in flushing out houses filled with mutants/zombies and against boss fights.
D- Tier
- Pirate: The Pirate is one of the weakest classes in Dead Sails as it only increases the speed of your sailboat by 20MPH. It is not a very useful ability, as you will traverse slowly the majority of the time to scavenge for resources.
How to get a Class in Dead Sails

Like most games, the Classes in Dead Sails are also acquired randomly through rolling. To do this, interact with the Buy Classes section in the main lobby area and pay with either Dabloons or Lucky Spins to get a random class. Since Lucky Spins have much better roll stats, I suggest using it over Dabloons to get better Classes like Godly or Legendary in the experience.
