How to enable Voice Chat in Roblox

Users must meet the requirements.

Roblox hasn't released the voice chat feature just yet, but new images from Bloxy News provide a glimpse of what it takes to enable the feature. The instructions below detail what we know until voice chat officially launches on the Roblox platform.

Note: All Roblox users must be age 18 or over to enable voice chat. Users must also verify their age by uploading Photo ID to a portal provided by Roblox. If users do not meet either of these requirements, all voice chat features will most likely be disabled and restricted from their account. Check out our Roblox Voice Chat Guide for more detailed explanations concerning these requirements.

To enable voice chat in Roblox, users must go into the Settings section of the Roblox platform. Settings can be found by hovering over the Gear button in the top-right corner.

Within Settings, press the Privacy tab to bring up a list of options. Somewhere on this page should be a Voice Chat heading (see image below) that allows the user to toggle the feature off and on. Toggle the Voice Chat feature to appear green to enable.

Once enabled, return to the Account Info tab where much of the general account information is stored. When voice chat officially launches, it looks like a Verify Age button will become visible on the Account Info page. With the user's Photo ID ready, press Verify Age to either upload Photo ID or scan the identification with the user's mobile device. All identification should process through Veratad's age/ID software.

After completing the Verify Age step, the user will most likely have to wait for a success email from Roblox/Veratad to confirm that voice chat was 100 percent enabled. With these steps completed, users with voice chat enabled should be able to communicate with each other in most Roblox experiences.

  4. This 18+ stuff, bro. I’d rather do something on discord or something, where you experience cussing on a daily basis. I think what Roblox is doing, should be rethought.

      1. old thread but that’s why there is an age verification.

  5. Wow, 18 and up!? It should be 13 and up and before Voice Chat enables you should somehow prove that you are comfortable with swear words and understand that you’re gonna hear a LOT of swear words based on how trash Roblox’s moderation and community is. Roblox is stupid.

  6. I’m 21 but I don’t see the option in my settings??

    1. Voice chat is not yet enabled on the platform.

      1. then why do most ppl hav that already?

  8. Really though, 18 and up? You do realize that the majority of your player base are under 18? Why are you alienating the largest group of players? I’m only asking because my daughter likes to play and more likely than not I’m playing alongside her.

    1. We don’t make Roblox, you’ll have to ask the company.

        1. Bro?
