MiniToon (@MiniToon on Roblox)—the original Piggy creator—confirmed the Piggy: Intercity release date via Twitter. It was supposed to launch earlier, but MiniToon claims to have lost development due to various Roblox client outages.

Piggy: Intercity is the anticipated follow-up to Piggy, one of the most popular Roblox games on the platform. Unlike the original, Intercity is an open-world survival game, where players must fight against the infected. In other words, the stage and the stakes will be even higher in the new game.

In Intercity, players will scavenge for food, weapons, and survival items. True to Piggy form, the infected will be on the hunt, though however many infected roam the open-world is yet to be seen.

While not much is known about Piggy: Intercity, character customization will be a feature in the game. Iconic characters such as Georgie the Piggy, Mousy, and Giraffy will be available (some with updated appearances) according to Ant Antixx.

The original Piggy, created Jan. 2020, has since soared to over seven billion visits and over eight million favorites, with a daily player count of approximately 60,000. Whether or not Piggy: Intercity reaches the same heights remains to be determined, but we'll be sure to cover new announcements when the game launches this weekend.
