Monkey Bomb Tag is a simple, yet exciting game where your aim is, well, tagging Monkeys that aren’t you with a bomb. It is a PvP-only experience where you are pitted against other monkeys, and you essentially just run around as fast and unpredictably as you can, keeping as much distance as possible from your opponents. So if you're looking for a Beginner's Guide, you're in the right place.
How to Play Monkey Bomb Tag

Every match in Monkey Bomb Tag starts with a vote to select 1 of 3 arenas, each with different heights and layouts. Everyone picks their favorite, and the one with the most votes is selected as the arena for that round. After that, you are free to jump down or wait to get teleported, then wait again for a few seconds for the round to start.
At the start of the match, one random monkey will be selected as the first bomb. If you’re the bomb, find the nearest or the clumsiest target and give chase. Everyone has X-ray vision, so look for the blue outlines and go for it. If you’re not the bomb, run away as fast as you can.
How to Get Better at Monkey Bomb Tag
While the gameplay is straightforward, the game is entirely skill-based, and there are quite a few ways you can improve your skills to stay alive longer and eventually start winning rounds. You can start off by improving your movement. If you have already played some rounds, you may have noticed that there’s velocity when you move forward (or even backward) without stopping. You will pick up speed the longer you stay in motion. Jumping breaks your velocity, so try to jump when you feel like you’re sufficiently sped up to reach the height you’re aiming for.
If you combine high speed with, for example, grabbing a vine or jumping on a trampoline, you can quite quickly ascend greater heights than with just normal movement. Speaking of heights, it is almost always a good idea to stay on higher ground, as it is harder to move around there.
Most maps feature less surface vertically, so if someone is chasing you with a bomb, they can fall down, and if you happen to get tagged by a bomb for that round, you can select a target more easily from higher up by descending on them. If you happen to have a bomb on you, do keep in mind that your maximum speed is higher than that of a monkey without a bomb.
Lastly, just because it is a fast-paced game doesn’t mean there aren’t tactics involved: Keep an eye on monkeys that are staying still, try to get a feel for who might be an easy target, decide if it’s worth being next to them, as any one of you may get a bomb after the current one explodes. If it’s down to the last few monkeys, it will certainly be the ones who were playing carefully and staying up high, so it could be a good idea to hover around them just in case.
How to Collect Bananas in Monkey Bomb Tag

It wouldn’t be a monkey game without collecting bananas, and there are a few ways to do that in Monkey Bomb Tag. You can get some just by being online for a certain amount of time (5 bananas for 5 minutes, for example). Engaging with the game nets you more bananas - surviving a round gives you 5 bananas, and tagging someone with a bomb gives you 2 bananas.
While running, you can also collect them off the ground, earning 2 per pickup. If you happen to get bombed early in the round, do not despair! If you don’t want to take a short break or inspect the Shops, jump back down and collect the ground bananas, which you can still do in your ghostly form.
How to Spend Bananas in Monkey Bomb Tag

Bananas are spent exclusively in the Case Shop, where you can buy Cases that give you randomly dropped cosmetics; rarer items have lower drop rates. You can buy Tails, Effects, Bombs, and Emotes.
