The best clans in Ryujin are Wu (S Tier - 20% stat gain, hunger recovery on hit, and access to a powerful exclusive combat toolkit), Yamazaki (S Tier - Karate damage boost, faster Mode Bar charging, and access to Congenital Ultra Instinct), and Park (S Tier - skill copying, 10% cooldown reduction, and Ultra Instinct mode). We have ranked all the 44 clans currently in Ryujin.
Clans in Ryujin determine your passive stat bonuses, exclusive abilities, unique moves, and how your name displays in-game. When you create a character, you are assigned a random clan from a pool. With multiple rarities like Mythic, Legendary, Rare, Uncommon, and Common, getting the right clan can be quite confusing. So, to help you, this tier list ranks all 44 clans across all rarity to help you know exactly what to reroll for and when to stop.

| Jang [Legendary] | + When reduced to 10% health, Jang heals to 25% and stuns nearby players for 2 seconds on a 5-minute cooldown. + It is one of the strongest emergency survival mechanics available at the Legendary tier. + Stamina scaling is increased by 15%, stat gains by 10%, and Animal Instinct mode access adds a powerful combat transformation at lower health thresholds. | Stamina builds, low-health combat, PvP survival |
Which Clans Are A Tier in Ryujin?
| Clan & Rarity | Why This Tier | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Tokita [Mythic] | + Tokita increases Strength and Agility scaling simultaneously, making it effective for fast, agile builds that also need physical power. + Mode Bar charging is faster and stat gains are increased by 20%, which is competitive with Mythic S Tier clans in progression speed. - What keeps it in A rather than S is that its bonuses are less specialized and individually impactful than the best Mythic and Evolved kits. | Hybrid Strength/Agility builds, progression-focused play |
| Sta [Legendary] | + Sta increases Striking Speed by 5%, Running Speed by 10%, Fighting Reflexes charging by 25%, and Subskill effectiveness and duration by 20%. + Stat gains are increased by 15% and access to Darkness Blow adds an exclusive offensive skill. The breadth of its bonuses makes Sta one of the strongest all-around Legendary picks. | Speed builds, subskill-heavy combat, general progression |
| Haruo [Legendary] | + Haruo increases Maximum Fat by 100, Fat gain by 10%, and Fat scaling by 10%, creating the best Fat-based clan in the game. + Stat gains are increased by 10% and Body Slam grants an exclusive skill that directly leverages the clan's high Fat ceiling. - A strong pick for any build specifically optimizing around Fat stats. | Fat builds, physical power, sumo-adjacent playstyles |
| Choi [Legendary] | + Choi reduces personal damage by 15% but increases stat gains by 15%, making it primarily a progression-oriented clan. + It captures districts twice as fast, and at SSS+ Potential, all nearby gang members deal 10% more damage, run 5% faster, and earn 25% more money from districts. - Its individual combat value is limited, but its team and gang impact is unmatched. | Gang-focused builds, district control, team play |
| Wongsawat [Legendary] | + Wongsawat increases Boxing and Muay Thai damage by 7.5% and allows access to all skills from either style as long as you have one equipped. + Stat gains are increased by 10% and access to Flicker Jabs and God Glow adds powerful exclusive combat options. - One of the best Legendary clans for dedicated martial arts builds. | Boxing and Muay Thai builds, style diversity |
| Makunouchi [Evolved] | + Makunouchi increases Boxing damage by 15% and provides Triple Jabs by default, improving combo damage and basic attack output. + The Evolved rarity gives it the highest stat gain potential among A Tier clans. - Its main limitation is that the strongest bonuses only apply to Boxing, reducing its flexibility for other fighting styles. | Boxing-exclusive builds, combo-focused combat |
| Hanafusa [Evolved] | + Hanafusa strengthens healing effects by 15%, making it the best recovery-oriented clan available. + Hosted Virus and Terminal Stab add unique offensive tools alongside increased stat gains. The bonuses are more specialized than S Tier Evolved clans. - The healing amplification is genuinely strong for recovery and sustain-heavy builds. | Healing builds, survivability-focused play |
| Wakatsuki [Evolved] | + Wakatsuki increases muscle gain, reduces muscle loss, and provides higher stat gain alongside access to Blast Core for a strong offensive boost. + The muscle-scaling bonus requires a non-lean build to maximize, which limits its effectiveness for players preferring lean setups. - Within its intended build type, it is one of the stronger Evolved A Tier options. | Muscle-heavy physical builds, non-lean progression |
Which Clans Are B Tier in Ryujin?
| Clan & Rarity | Why This Tier | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Hatsumi [Legendary] | + Hatsumi increases counter damage, reflects part of incoming attacks back to the attacker. + Enhances Aikido fighting style skills, and provides Stardrop for strong counter-focused utility. - Its Legendary rarity puts it above Rare options, but its effectiveness depends heavily on landing consistent counters, making it less reliable in fights. | Aikido and counter builds, defensive-reactive combat |
| Morow [Rare] | + Morow makes Evasive available 20% faster, increases the Perfect Block window by 0.1 seconds, and grants access to Bungee Gum Pull. - The combination of evasion speed and block utility gives it the best defensive toolkit at the Rare tier. | Evasive and block-focused builds |
| Sano [Rare] | + Sano increases kicks damage by 10%, gives gang members 15% more money from districts, and grants access to Nuclear Kick. - Solid for kick-heavy builds with a useful team economic bonus on the side. | Kick builds, gang money farming |
| Hammer [Rare] | + Hammer slows Fatigue gain by 50%, one of the most consistently useful passive bonuses at the Rare tier for any build. - Grants access to the Bite skill. | Endurance builds, Longer fights |
| Biscuit [Rare] | + Biscuit increases Muscle gain by 15% and Muscle scaling damage by 10%, making it a solid early-to-mid game clan. - Lacks access to higher-rarity muscle options like Hanma or Wakatsuki. | Early physical builds, muscle-focused progression |
| Takeru [Rare] | + Takeru increases Sumo damage by 10%, extends all Sumo attack stun duration by 0.1 seconds, increases Fat gain by 25%, and reduces Fat loss by 15%. - Muscle scaling is decreased by 5%, making it a dedicated Sumo or Fat build clan rather than a general pick. | Sumo and Fat builds exclusively |
| Hanayama [Uncommon] | + Hanayama stays at 1% health instead of being knocked out once every 2 minutes, a strong emergency survival passive at the Uncommon tier. + Durability gain is increased by 10% and Durability scales 5% better, giving it real defensive utility above most Uncommon options. | Durability and survival builds |
| Akezawa [Uncommon] | + Akezawa increases job money income by 15%, giving it the best early-game money generation passive available at the Uncommon tier. - Useful for players grinding currency before accessing higher-rarity clans. | Early money farming |
| Kaioh [Rare] | + Kaioh increases Kung Fu damage, reduces dash cooldowns, and temporarily boosts skill damage after a successful block or perfect counter. - Its strongest bonus requires precise timing to trigger reliably, which limits its consistency in fast-paced fights. | Kung Fu builds, block-timing-focused combat |
Which Clans Are C Tier in Ryujin?
| Clan & Rarity | Why This Tier | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Sawada [Rare] | + Sawada increases kick range, reduces kick end lag, and boosts kick damage. - Concentrating all value in one attack type at the Rare tier makes it significantly less versatile than Sano, which offers kick bonuses plus team benefits. | Kick-only builds |
| Zenin [Uncommon] | + Zenin increases all stat gains by 5%. Simple, universal, and consistent. - A 5% bonus at the Uncommon tier is not enough to compete with the stronger combat-specific clans above it. | Any build, basic progression |
| Doyle [Uncommon] | + Doyle increases Basic Combat and Street Fighting damage by 7.5%. - Solid for early players still in basic combat styles. - Quickly outclassed once higher fighting styles are unlocked. | Early combat styles |
| Alai [Uncommon] | + Alai increases Boxing damage by 9%. Slightly stronger than Doyle for Boxing-focused players. - Nowhere near Makunouchi's 15% Boxing bonus at a higher rarity. | Basic Boxing builds |
| Lee [Uncommon] | + Lee increases Fat gain by 10%. Useful for Fat build players who have not yet accessed Takeru or Haruo. - Minimal value otherwise in any other stat. | Early Fat builds |
| Gizenga [Uncommon] | + Gizenga makes blinding skills deal 50% more blinding status effect damage. - Extremely niche bonus that only matters in specific blinding-based combat situations. | Blinding-skill builds only |
| Toba [Uncommon] | + Toba gives a 5% chance to guardbreak with light attacks. - Too low a proc rate to reliably affect fights. | None |
| Hanada [Uncommon] | + Hanada reduces dash cooldown by 10%. The smallest version of what Mikazuchi does at Mythic tier. - Functional but too minor to be competitive. | Dash-heavy builds, mobility |
| Reinhold [Common] | + Reinhold makes the character slightly taller and increases Durability scaling by 2%. - A barely noticeable bonus at the Common tier with no combat-relevant impact. | None |
Which Clans Are D Tier in Ryujin?
| Clan & Rarity | Why This Tier | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Lihito [Rare] | + Lihito gives Razor's Showman 10% more damage but the bleed effect requires completing a full M1 combo to trigger, with a 20-second cooldown between activations. - Difficult to proc against evasive players and the overall bonus is too narrow to justify the Rare rarity slot. | Razor's Showman builds only |
| Dudley [Rare] | + Dudley gives Adam Dudley's MMA 10% more damage and increases knockback. - The increased knockback actively makes combos harder to land by pushing enemies out of range, partially negating its own benefit. | Minimal situational use |
| Che [Uncommon] | + Che increases counter damage by 10%. - A weaker version of Hatsumi's counter-focused kit without any of the supporting mechanics that make counters reliable. | Early Counter Builds |
| Soo [Uncommon] | + Soo increases money from all sources by 6%. - Less efficient than Akezawa's 15% job income bonus for farming currency. | Early money farming only |
| Kouhei [Common] | + Kouhei reduces the stat requirements for Wrestling styles by 5%. - A minimal quality-of-life bonus with no combat impact. | None |
| Atsushi [Common] | + Atsushi gives a 10% chance for a 30-second Speed boost when guardbreaking. - Too low a proc rate and too conditional to affect most fights. | None |
| Sekibayashi [Common] | + Sekibayashi increases Durability by 5%. - Smaller than Reinhold's Durability scaling increase at the same tier. | None |
| Akatsuka [Common] | + Akatsuka gives a 5% Speed boost in combat. - A minor boost with no scaling or combat utility. | None |
| Yamashita [Common] | + Yamashita makes jobs reward 7% more money. - Less than Akezawa's 15% job income at Uncommon. | None |
