You can find our tier list of all units in the Stud Tower Defense Roblox experience in the table above. Generally, the higher the rarity of a unit, the better it will be. However, even lower-rarity units can be viable if they have some sort of utility (stun, slow, etc.) or are cheap to place and upgrade, making them a solid starter. You can see the full breakdown of the ranking factors and all units' pros and cons in the sections below.
Stud TD Tier List Ranking Factors
- DPS: Damage and attack speed are the most important stats in the game. Without enough DPS, you won't be able to deal with the hardest enemies and clear end-game content.
- Placement and upgrade costs: Placement and upgrade costs are especially important for starter units or when playing shorter game modes where money is scarce.
- Range and attack type: Unit range is extremely important in Stud TD, as well as whether the attack pierces enemies, is only single-target, AoE, etc.
- Utility: Some units, like the Grappler, can stun enemies, making them OP for virtually all maps and difficulties. Depending on how good a unit's utility is, the higher it will rank.
S-Tier Units
Unit | Pros & Cons |
---|---|
![]() | + Meta support unit + Clones nearby units, doubling your DPS and everything else + The strongest support unit for the endgame in Stud Tower Defense – Extremely expensive to upgrade and max out |
![]() | + Meta DPS unit + Deals %HP DMG to enemies, making him OP against high-HP enemies + The strongest DPS unit for the endgame in Stud Tower Defense – Not that useful against low-HP enemies – Fairly low range and expensive to upgrade and max out |
![]() | + Meta AoE DPS unit + Deals very good damage to up to 5 enemies + Extremely good range and attack speed + One of the best AoE DPS units in Stud Tower Defense – Worse single-target DPS than Viper and some other end-game DPSs |
![]() | + Meta AoE DPS unit + Deals extremely good sustained AoE damage + One of the best AoE DPS units in Stud Tower Defense + Better than Zeus for clearing hordes of weak enemies – Very bad single-target DPS – Expensive to upgrade and max out |
![]() | + Meta support unit + Stuns enemies with its attacks for a long time when maxed out + Extremely cheap to place and max out + One of the best support units in Stud Tower Defense – Fairly low range – Non-existent DPS |
![]() | + The best low-rarity DPS unit in Studs Tower Defense + Extremely cheap to place and upgrade + Excellent damage and range, and solid attack speed + Attacks pierce enemies, making it an OP unit even for the endgame – Lower single-target DPS than most other DPS towers |
A-Tier Units
Unit | Pros & Cons |
---|---|
![]() | + Gives a flat damage boost to other towers in range + Has a very good synergy with fast-attacking towers like Magmamancer + Can provide a meaningful DPS boost even on 0 upgrades – Fairly expensive to upgrade and max out – The increased flat damage is useless for slow-hitting allies |
![]() | + Very good support/farm unit + Generates gold and stuns enemies with each of its attacks – Non-existent DPS – Expensive to place and upgrade – Grappler is just a better support unit to use |
![]() | + Meta support/farm unit for Nightmare and Endless + Provides a consistent stream of money and bonus cards at Lv. 5 – Non-existent DPS – Expensive to place and upgrade – Borderline irrelevant for shorter and easier game modes |
![]() | + Very good balance of damage, range, and attack speed + Fairly cheap to max out considering its placement price – There are a few DPS units that outperform it in end-game content |
![]() | + Extremely good damage, range, and attack speed for a common unit + Will carry you throughout the game until you get something better + One of the best low-rarity DPS units in Studs Tower Defense – Expensive to upgrade and max out for a common unit – Deals only single-target damage, which is suboptimal – Higher-rarity DPSs are usually better |
B-Tier Units
Unit | Pros & Cons |
---|---|
![]() | + Summons defeated enemies with up to 150% maximum HP + Excellent support/DPS unit – Expensive to upgrade and max out – Using regular DPS units is often straight-up better |
![]() | + Meta support unit for the Endless mode + Enables you to rewind to the previous wave, saving money and units – You simply don't need it for most other content – It's often better to have another DPS unit in the same slot |
![]() | + Solid support/DPS unit for beginners + Hits multiple enemies and applies a short-duration stun + Fairly cheap to upgrade and max out – It doesn't excel either as a DPS or as a support – Just use the Grappler if you need something with stun |
![]() | + Fairly good support unit that can slow down enemies + OP against hordes of fast-moving enemies – Non-existent DPS – Other CC units are better against bosses – Very expensive to upgrade and max out |
![]() | + Extremely cheap to place and upgrade + Fairly good unit for beginners + Traps slow enemies and provide quite good DPS – The damage it can deal is limited by the area it covers – Fairly useless later on as its damage is capped technically |
![]() | + Very good range and solid damage and attack speed + Solid AoE DPS – Extremely expensive to upgrade and max out for a low-rarity unit – Subpar single-target DPS compared to most other units |
C-Tier Units
Unit | Pros & Cons |
---|---|
![]() | + Okayish DPS/farm unit for the early game + Each attack generates money – Fairly low DPS, range, and attack speed – There are better DPS and farm units you can use for the endgame |
![]() | + Very good range and solid AoE DPS with its grenades – Relatively expensive to place and max out – Fairly low single-target DPS makes it suboptimal later on |
![]() | + Solid base damage and stun duration – Very low attack speed makes its stun quite useless – Extremely low range and effective DPS – One of the worst units in Stud Tower Defense |
![]() | + Extremely cheap to place and upgrade + Okayish support/DPS unit for beginners – It doesn't excel either as a DPS or as a support – Targets only one enemy at a time – The stun duration is extremely low – One of the worst units in Stud Tower Defense |
![]() | + Attacks pierce enemies and deal massive damage + Extremely good range for such a low-rarity unit – Its total DPS is fairly bad compared to other units – The damage is overkill against most thrash mobs in the early game – One of the worst DPS units in Stud Tower Defense |
