Type Soul Bankai Tier List

Bankais are the second Zanpakutō release in Type Soul, typically only available to Soul Reapers who have achieved the captain level. They are divided into several elements. These abilities provide the wielder with different special moves. They are all extremely powerful, but not all are created equal. If you're like me and are curious how they all rank, we have created a tier list in this article comparing all Type Soul Bankai.

We have created a ranking list of all Bankai in Type Soul, taking into account their power and overall usefulness in the game. Remember that while some are better than others, all Bankai are extremely potent, and just like all Shikai, they have their use in the game, and you need to obtain one to become truly powerful. We will update this list if any additional Bankai appears in the game.

S Tier

Blood Bankai

This is probably the most powerful Bankai in the game right now. Its Z to C skills are standard but grant you x2 Blood. Its passive skill is Bloodlust, which gives you regeneration as long as it’s filled, and also provides fuel to your C skill. Boiling Blood stuns your victims while simultaneously restoring your Bloodlust.

Ice Bankai

While Blood Bankai is focused on Bloodlust and offense, Ice Bankai is all about control and setting your own tempo. Its Freeze The World passive let you freeze a large area around you, stunning any enemy caught in the range of effect. Everest Aura provides a similar effect by periodically emitting pulsing energy that freezes your enemies for a short time.

A Tier

Flame Bankai

Flame is my favorite Bankai in Type Soul and one of the most offense-oriented Bankais. It allows you to burn your enemies using Burn Step and Scorching Slashes passives. I must also mention Nefarious Phoenix as an especially quirky ability that lets you torch your opponent and resurrects as a zombie that follows you until you get hit.

Berserk Bankai

This Bankai has certain features that make it stand out from other Bankais in the game, favoring the Crippling status. I personally like the Berserk Critical, which lets you cripple your opponents as you slam-dunk them into the ground after an uppercut.

B Tier

Water Bankai

Water Bankai is about crowd control, as every move from the skillset creates a whirlpool that sucks enemies in, draining them of reiastu/cero/reishi. Its damage output could be better but becomes useful where certain amounts of CC are required, like in boss fights.

Shadow Bankai

This Bankai can be surprisingly strong, but only in certain circumstances. Its main focus is inducing Fear to your opponents. Hunting Grounds is an especially useful skill that lets you use a claw-like attack on your enemies, applying Fear status while obstructing their vision.

Confusion Bankai

This Bankai is fairly unique, mainly thanks to its Reverse skill, which lets you rewind everything that's happened for the last 15 seconds. Every attack and a clever move made by your enemy can get erased like it never happened, but the ability is interruptible, so be careful.

C Tier

Lightning Bankai

This Bankai plays a bit differently, preferring subterfuge to all-out damage. Its Blocker Box passive projects a clone that runs off in a single direction. After a brief moment, the illusion disappears, with your character spawning a lightning cube that deals a decent amount of damage, albeit at the risk of leaving you exposed.

Creation Bankai

This Bankai lets you wield a tendril with which you can control the fight by assigning it offensive and defensive stances. In the defensive mode, the chain link will automatically parry all attacks aimed toward you. The Z skill is particularly useful for its AoE capability, doing decent damage in a vast area.

D Tier

Wind Bankai

This Bankai offers its wielder a combination of crowd control abilities that also do moderate damage. The Warbios skill can summon a downward wind that pins your opponents into the ground while dealing substantial damage, while Conclave Silence is a perfect combo opener, sticking your enemies together in a giant whirlwind.
