New Stages and Modes

Beast Universal Tear

The new Beast Universal Tear has been added to the rotation. On wave 5 you choose between three different buff cards, and when wave 20 arrives you take on Rohan across four phases. Clearing the stage gives you a chance to obtain the new Rohan (Mystic) unit. The four phases break down like this:

  • Phase 1, Base Rohan: Defeat the first phase to pick from three buff cards.
  • Phase 2, Super Saiyan Rohan: the boss gains a movement buff, and beating him lets you choose another buff card.
  • Phase 3, Mystic Rohan: he gets even faster before dropping into the final phase.
  • Phase 4, Blanco Beast: Rohan hits maximum velocity. This phase includes an optional clash between the boss and the player, with a win granting buffs and a loss granting debuffs.

Maximum Bio-Android World Raid

Maximum Bio-Android World Raid UTDX Update

Arguably, the biggest start of this Universal Tower Defense X Patch Notes. The Maximum Bio-Android World Raid lets you team up with 11 other players, for 12 total, to challenge Bio-Android Maximum. The raid drops the Maximum Bio-Android (Disaster) unit and its evo items.

After 10 waves, Bio-Android Maximum shows up and challenges you. You need to deplete his Elemental Shields by attacking them with elemental advantage units. Every shield you destroy makes the Bio-Android swap its element and sell your units, refunding 90 percent of the Yen you spent on each unit. The shields go in the order of Fire, Water, Wind, then Rose. For every two shields broken, the boss grabs a random player and disables them from interacting with their units, so the lobby has to work together to free trapped teammates.

Once the boss has spawned, you can also start collecting Dragon Spheres. This is an optional mechanic, and using any active abilities has a chance to spawn them. Collect all seven and you unlock an All Out Attack option that at least half of the lobby needs to activate. A successful All Out Attack instantly destroys one Elemental Shield, or, if every shield is already depleted, deals a large percentage of total combined damage to the boss.

After all of the Elemental Shields are gone, Bio-Android Maximum starts preparing his attack. You get a minute to make sure your units are ready, then 15 seconds to deal enough damage to stop him. Succeed, and you stabilize his ability, letting you keep attacking until you win. Fail and he unleashes a devastating Energy Bomb that wipes the map, though you still get a chance to make a comeback and win.

New Elemental Shield Mechanic

Elemental Shields are a new type of HP bar that can only be broken by using effective elements against them. They show up in the Maximum Bio-Android World Raid and add a layer of element matching to boss fights.
