Updated on June 12st: Added the best Hollow Traits list for every Arrancar build in VV Ultimatum.
Want to know what the best Hollow Traits are in VV Ultimatum? Being one of the most ambitious Bleach-inspired Roblox RPGs to date, VV Ultimatum offers a unique playstyle for each of its three races. For the Hollow (Arrancar) race, Traits are one of the defining features, and our VV Ultimatum Hollow Trait Tier List breaks down which ones are worth chasing and which ones to skip.
Best VV Ultimatum Hollow Traits Ranked
Unlike VV Ultimatum Clans, which act more like inherited stat bonuses, Hollow Traits feel physical and transformation-based. Some make your Hollow faster, some make it tankier, and others sharpen a specific combat tool such as Cero or Hakuda. Because of that, the best Hollow Traits depend heavily on your build and playstyle.
Hollow Traits are visible mutations that change your Hollow's appearance while also granting stats, passive bonuses, or special effects. They tie directly into your movement, defense, Cero, Resurrección duration, melee damage, posture, and even stealth. Here is how we rank all 13.
| Hollow Trait | Passives & Evaluation |
|---|---|
Iron SkinS TierVisual Change: Thick iron-like skin, similar to an Arrancar's Hierro. |
Evaluation: One of the safest traits overall. The defense and posture regen help in nearly every melee-heavy fight, making it excellent for brawlers and durable Arrancar builds. |
WingsS TierVisual Change: Large wings. |
Evaluation: A top-tier mobility trait with no downside. It helps with chasing, escaping, repositioning, and keeping pressure during Resurrección. |
Deadly ClawsS TierVisual Change: Blunt base attacks become sharp. |
Evaluation: Excellent for aggressive melee/Hakuda builds. Extra Hakuda damage and AP pressure make it one of the best offensive Hollow traits. |
TailboneS TierVisual Change: Long bony tail. Laser Ceros. |
Evaluation: The damage boost is massive for Cero-focused play. The thinner beam makes aim more important, but the payoff is worth it if you can land your Ceros. |
Innocuous PresenceS TierVisual Change: No one really notices you. |
Evaluation: A strong PvP and roaming trait. Hidden identity, hidden reiatsu, extra speed, and longer Resurrección all support ambushes, escapes, and cleaner engagements. |
SkinnyA TierVisual Change: You are a skinnier Hollow. |
Evaluation: Great for speed-based players who want to kite, chase, or disengage. The defense penalty keeps it below S Tier, but the movement value is very real. |
Dense MusclesA TierVisual Change: Increased muscle density. |
Evaluation: A reliable hybrid melee trait. The damage bonuses are modest, but the long Resurrección extension makes it valuable in drawn-out fights. |
TentaclesA TierVisual Change: Twin tentacles. |
Evaluation: Good for melee pressure and damage-over-time. The weapon penalty applies on every hit while the poison only procs occasionally, so weigh it against pure damage traits. |
GiantA TierVisual Change: You get bigger. |
Evaluation: Excellent if you want to play tanky and survive trades. The speed loss is noticeable, so it fits bruisers better than chase-heavy builds. |
Back ScalesB TierVisual Change: Insect-like vertebrae. |
Evaluation: Useful for Cero uptime and longer Resurrección windows, but the damage penalty makes it more of a utility pick than a pure damage trait. |
EnergizedB TierVisual Change: Explosive power bubbles beneath your skin. |
Evaluation: Best for Kido-leaning or hybrid builds. It is not bad, but it needs the right stat direction to beat more universal traits. |
ExoskeletonB TierVisual Change: A stronger skeletal structure. |
Evaluation: A decent defensive trait, especially for longer fights. However, the movement penalty and situational healthpack value keep it below stronger tank options. |
HornsC TierVisual Change: You get horns. |
Evaluation: Makes Ceros easier to land, but it does not add damage, speed, defense, or duration. Useful as flavor or support for Cero builds, but low priority by itself. |
How to Get Hollow Traits in VV Ultimatum
You earn Hollow Traits while progressing through the Hollow race. As you consume and defeat other Hollows, each kill carries a small chance to drop a Trait, and any Trait can drop from any Hollow. The exact rate is not confirmed, but the takeaway is that Traits are tied to the grind and should be planned before you commit to becoming an Arrancar.
You can also refuse a Trait you do not want. This matters because your slots are limited and some Traits carry downsides, such as reduced movement speed, reduced Cero damage, or lower defense. Filling a slot with a debuff-heavy Trait you will not use is a real cost.
NOTE: You cannot gain new Traits once you are an Arrancar. Everything you want has to be collected during the Hollow stages.

When Are Hollow Traits Active?
Hollow Traits are only active in Resurrección, after you become an Arrancar. They are not always-on passives in every situation. They come online when you activate your Resurrección mode, which is exactly why Traits that extend Resurrección, sharpen Cero, or keep you alive are so valuable.
This shapes the whole Tier List. A Trait should not be judged on its raw numbers alone. What matters is how much it does during the Resurrección window, where fights are usually decided by pressure, mobility, burst, and survivability. A small bonus that is live during your strongest phase often beats a bigger one that is not.
How Many Hollow Traits Can You Have?
The number of slots you get is set by how far you progress as a Hollow before evolving into an Arrancar:
- Menoscar: 2 Trait slots
- Adjuchas: 3 Trait slots
- Vasto Lorde: 4 Trait slots
The "-car" forms (Menoscar, Adjucar, Vastocar) are the Arrancar evolutions of each Hollow tier, and they keep the slot count of the tier they came from. This is the single biggest reason not to rush. Menoscar and Adjucar are dead-end evolutions, so if you take them early, you lock yourself out of the extra slots. Pushing all the way to Vasto Lorde gives you the full four slots and the strongest possible loadout before you turn into a Vastocar (Arrancar).
How to Change or Reset Hollow Traits in VV Ultimatum
You can change your Traits while you are still a Hollow. Open the menu and select the DNA icon to reset and re-roll your active Traits, which lets you swap out anything that does not fit your build.
The catch is timing. Before progressing to Vastocar, lock in every Trait you want, because they become permanent once you evolve and can no longer be changed. Evolving into a Vastocar also resets your stats while transforming you into an Arrancar, granting your Arrancar weapon and opening the next stage of progression. So treat your final pre-Arrancar moment as your last chance to fix your loadout.
In short, do not ignore Traits while leveling. They shape your final Arrancar build, and the wrong combination leaves you stuck with passives that fight against your playstyle.
Best Hollow Traits for Hakuda (Melee) Builds
Hakuda builds want fist damage, posture, and enough defense to keep trading. A strong four-slot setup:
- Deadly Claws - core Hakuda damage and AP.
- Iron Skin - defense and posture regen to win trades.
- Dense Muscles - extra Hakuda damage plus a long Resurrección extension.
- Wings - mobility to stay on target.
- Tentacles - if you want poison pressure.
- Tailbone - if Kido is your secondary stat.
Deadly Claws is the standout because it directly raises Hakuda Damage and adds Max AP. Iron Skin keeps you alive in the brawls Hakuda builds want to start.
Best Hollow Traits for Kido and Cero Builds
Cero is the Hollow's signature energy beam, and it scales with your Kido stat, so Cero builds are Kido builds. A strong four-slot setup:
- Tailbone - the biggest Cero damage increase in the game.
- Energized - more Kido damage, and it lets weapon damage scale off Kido.
- Iron Skin - good defense that lets you hold position and aim.
- Back Scales -faster Cero charge and longer Resurrección.
- Horns - if you struggle to land beams.
Tailbone is the clear damage pick, but it makes your beam 25% thinner, so it rewards consistent aim. Back Scales trades a little Cero damage for uptime and Resurrección duration, while Horns only widens and lengthens the beam to make it easier to hit.
Best Hollow Traits for Strength (Weapon) Builds
Strength builds lean on weapon damage rather than fists or Cero. A strong four-slot setup:
- Dense Muscles - weapon damage plus a long Resurrección extension.
- Iron Skin - universal defense and posture.
- Exoskeleton or Giant - a second defensive layer for trades.
- Wings - mobility-
- Tailbone - if Kido is your secondary stat.
Note that Tentacles and Skinny both carry weapon-damage penalties, so they are weaker on a pure Strength build even though they look tempting elsewhere. Energized is an option if you want a Kido-hybrid weapon build, since it ties weapon damage to your Kido stat.
Best Hollow Traits for Speed (Mobility) Builds
Speed builds win through positioning, kiting, and pressure. A strong four-slot setup:
- Wings - the best all-around mobility trait, with no downside.
- Skinny - the largest raw Movement Speed boost.
- Iron Skin - defense to offset Skinny's penalty-
- Innocuous Presence - more speed, plus name and reiatsu hiding for PvP.
- Dense Muscles - for Resurrección uptime.
Wings is the foundation because it stacks Movement Speed, Shunpo Stamina, and Shunpo Speed for free. Skinny pushes speed even higher at the cost of defense, which is why Iron Skin pairs so well with it.
Best Hollow Traits for Tank Builds
Tank builds soak damage and outlast opponents. A strong four-slot setup:
- Iron Skin - defense and a large posture regen bonus.
- Giant - more Melee Defense and some Kido Defense.
- Exoskeleton - Melee Defense, posture, and a bigger Resurrección healthpack.
- Wings or Dense Muscles - to offset the speed loss, or to extend Resurrección.
Iron Skin is the safest pick by far. Stacking Giant and Exoskeleton adds defense but also piles on movement penalties, so slotting one mobility or duration Trait keeps you from becoming too easy to kite.
VV Ultimatum Hollow Traits FAQ
Iron Skin is the safest universal pick thanks to its Melee Defense and Posture Regen, which help almost every build. For build-specific power, Deadly Claws leads Hakuda, Tailbone leads Kido and Cero, and Wings leads Speed.
You earn them by consuming and defeating Hollows while progressing as a Menos, Adjuchas, or Vasto Lorde. Each kill has a small chance to drop a Trait, any Trait can drop from any Hollow, and you can refuse ones you do not want. You cannot gain Traits once you are an Arrancar.
It depends on your final Hollow tier before evolving: Menoscar has 2 slots, Adjuchas has 3, and Vasto Lorde has 4.
Open the in-game menu and select the DNA icon to reset your Traits. You can only do this while you are still a Hollow, since Traits become permanent after you evolve into an Arrancar.
Only after you become an Arrancar and enter Resurrección. They are not always-on passives.
With that, that is everything you need on VV Ultimatum Hollow Traits. Hopefully you now understand how they work, which builds they suit, and how to use them effectively.
