Satisfactory Roadmap – All planned updates

Satisfactory, developed by Coffee Stain Studios, has had fans eagerly awaiting an official 1.0 launch for a while now. So, is it true that players will have to wait years, or is it a prank on the developer's part?

Does Satisfactory have a Roadmap?

Until February 2, 2024, Coffee Stain Studios had never released a roadmap for Satisfactory. That all (seemingly) changed when it released a premiere video on YouTube where the community manager, Snutt Treptow, claimed to know all updates that would occur before the official 1.0 launch of Satisfactory.

Is Satisfactory actually going to be released in 2026?

In short, no. The game will be released in 2024, despite what the first half of the YouTube announcement above says. The video starts by outlining the alleged planned updates for Satisfactory as:

• Update 9 (Experimental War) - This update will be released sometime in 2024. It will target factory efficiency and the addition of firearms.
• Update X - Likely to be released at the end of 2024, possibly later. Vehicle improvements and romanceable character will be the focus.
• Update 11 - To be released in 2025. Lasers will be at the center of the update, including laser automation. Cooking will also be added.

Except, these are false updates. The video quickly devolves into madness as Treptow begins laying out Update 12, glitching until he is reset and at the field where he stood at the start of the video. That's because the roadmap doesn't exist. The first portion of the video by Coffee Stain Studios was a joke to mess with viewers. Finally, Treptow gives the actual confirmation of Update 1.0 being on the horizon.

What is the real roadmap for Satisfactory?

There is technically no official Roadmap for Satisfactory, and mention of it was a joke for the beginning of an update video by Coffee Stain Studios. Instead, it has been confirmed that Satisfactory will officially launch in 2024. While a specific date has yet to be confirmed, developers know it will come sometime within 2024. Though a detailed roadmap isn't available, what we do know will occur before the 1.0 release of Satisfactory is:

• (Almost) No patches before 1.0, barring small and necessary issues that may arise.
• Satisfactory will enter into Closed Beta at some point in 2024.

Additionally, Coffee Stain Studios confirmed that the official launch of Satisfactory will include new game content, bug/glitch fixes, and a set ending to the game. More details are expected throughout 2024.
