How to get Pieces o’ Eight in Sea of Thieves

Monkey Island has come to Sea of Thieves, and Mêlée Island has never looked better. Few crossovers have had me as excited as a chance to meet Guybrush Threepwood and the infamous Captain LeChuck in my favorite pirate game. That said, I was taken aback when I showed up, and no one wanted my gold! Turns out, they only accept Pieces o' Eight on Mêlée Island. This meant I needed to seek out these coins if I wanted to purchase anything.

How to farm Pieces o' Eight in Sea of Thieves - The Journey to Mêlée Island

Pieces o' Eight are the only accepted form of currency Mêlée Island. This means your gold is no good here, and you'll need to collect these coins. Fortunately, there are plenty of Pieces o' Eight to find on Mêlée Island.

Pieces o' Eight are scattered across Mêlée Island, either in the form of individual coins or coin purses that contain multiple coins. That said, there is no best way to farm Pieces o' Eight, as there is a finite amount of them and they spawn in the same place every time. However, here is where you can look for Pieces o' Eight.

How to farm Pieces o' Eight in Sea of Thieves - The Quest for Guybrush

Pieces o' Eight are not used in The Quest for Guybrush like they were The Journey to Mêlée Island, except to get Grog and pay Captain Smirk. While you still need various items from the Shopkeeper and the Citizen of Mêlée, you must get them in other ways. Instead of purchasing the items, you must trade for them with other items found on Mêlée Island. The only Pieces o' Eight you get are for completing the Mêlée Island Spectacular.

  • Steal from pirates after giving them extra-potent Grog.

  • Bedroom cabinet
