Video game publisher Devolver Digital—known for releasing indie titles like the Serious Sam remakes, Hotline Miami, Enter the Gungeon, Gris, and Carrion— announced that the company will now be publicly-traded. The game studio will be part of the London Stock Exchange.
The employees of the Devolver—including those who joined the company as recently this year—will still hold majority stakes in the company. That means people outside of the company can't buy enough stocks to receive a majority of Devolver. According to the company, going public will allow it to invest further into the games that its studios are working on.

Going public will also give the company better opportunities to form partnerships for other game titles, and to hopefully increase Devolver's workforce. Currently, Devolver is partnered with video game development studios Croteam (developers of Serious Sam and The Talos Principle), Dodge Roll (Enter the Gungeon), Nerial (Reign and Card Shark), and FireFly Studios (the Stronghold series). Devolver also promises that a sequel to Dodge Roll's Enter the Gungeon has "specific plans" and that they've asked "more than once."
