Is there multiplayer/co-op in Sifu?

Sifu is developer Sloclap's, the team behind the online fighter Absolver, newest game. It is a roguelike martial arts fighting game with narrative-based gameplay. Based on their previous work, some players may be wondering if there is multiplayer or co-op in Sifu.

The answer is no—Sifu is an entirely single-player game and experience. In it, the player takes on the role of a martial artist seeking revenge for the death of their family. Due to its story and gameplay mechanics, Sifu will not have multiplayer or co-op.

Being a single-player experience means that Sloclap can focus on making the story and gameplay of Sifu shine. They can also experiment with ideas such as the aging mechanic. In addition, they can take ideas they learned from Absolver and fine-tune them without worrying about multiplayer aspects.

That being said, Sloclap has said that they want to keep making multiplayer games after the release of Sifu. Absolver was a popular game with some unique mechanics and aesthetics, so Sloclap knows how to make multiplayer games.
