How to become an actor in The Sims 4 – Acting Guide

So, you want to be famous?

So, you want to be a star, huh? Well, luckily for you, The Sims 4 has just the career, thanks to the Get Famous expansion pack. That said, acting certainly isn't the walk in the park you'd expect it to be, and it can actually consume a lot of your Sim's free time. So, if you're really wanting to branch out and become the talk of the town, then you should probably prepare for a rather long haul.

How to find work as an actor

As with any career in The Sims, it all starts with a newspaper, a phone, or the internet. Access any of these, and you'll be able to search for your first acting job. However, note that you will need to attend an audition first. You will be able to select an audition that best suits your Sim's abilities by scrolling through the Check Open Auditions tab.

Depending on the audition, you may need to learn a new skill. Typically, you will need to have a certain Acting Level. This can be leveled up by practicing with a mirror, or with a microphone. Be sure to check the requirements before attending the audition, as lack of skill will more than likely result in failure.

When signing up for an audition, you will need to focus on keeping your Sim happy. If they attend the audition with an attitude, then they will not land the job. So, be sure to stay on top of the mood swings the day of the audition. If all goes well, then the employers will offer your Sim the gig.

How to shoot a movie as an actor

Once you have landed a paying gig, you will need to visit the set to shoot the scenes. To find out when your scenes begin, click J to open the jobs panel. Note that you will need to stay motivated before heading off to set, so be sure to use a mirror to practice your speech. Doing so will not only help you get psyched up, but will also help raise your Acting Level.

As you finish each gig, you will have the chance to find more work and, in turn, boost your presence. For every Acting Level point you acquire, and for every project you complete, your celebrity status will improve. Perform in enough movies, and you'll find yourself climbing through the career ranks.

What are the acting tiers?

There are ten tiers in total that you will need to work through as an aspiring actor. You can get promoted by earning three stars in each project. To earn stars, you will need to meet the job requirements, stay motivated, and show up to set on time.
