New character Umbrella has been released in Skullgirls on PS4 and Steam

Parasoul's younger sister is here!

The Skullgirls roster continues to grow as the game officially released Umbrella on PS4 and Steam today (April. 14). The release was announced on the official Skullheart forums and on a news post on Steam, with the update downloadable shortly after.

Umbrella is the younger sister of the previous Skullgirls character Parasoul, being one of the two Canopy Kingdom princesses. Like her older sister, Umbrella uses an Umbrella to fight. And just like Parasoul, there’s a monstrous element to it.

Umbrella’s weapon is called Hungern and is part of her core playstyle. Hungern eats people up with grapples and then spits them out. More than this, the more he eats, the more powerful Umbrella’s attacks become. But if starved for too long, the attacks lose power, and your attack pattern changes.

Beyond this, Umbrella has some really interesting movement tech with her bubble. The bubble is a projectile that can be jumped on and used as a traditional ranged attack. You can also fire people out of Hungern inside a bubble to execute some unique combos.

Overall, Umbrella is the second character on the 2021-2022 Season 1 Pass for Skullgirls. Annie of the Stars was released as the first, and Black Dahlia was revealed in December as the third. Umbrella will likely release on Skullgirls Mobile soon.
