There are many resources in Slime Rancher 2 dotted around Rainbow Island. These resources are important because they allow players to unlock upgrades at the Fabricator. One especially elusive resource is the Silky Sand deposits. Players first need to build the Resource Harvester to obtain this item to extract the sand from the ground.

Where do you find Silky Sand in Slime Rancher 2?

Silky Sand can be found in a few different locations, but it is always found on sandy beaches near the shore's edge. The first place players will likely encounter Silky Sand is in the second location, called Ember Valley. Players can find Silky Sand on the shoreline coming out of these tall brown spouts. Once located, players simply need to use the Resource Harvester to collect the sand.

What is Silky Sand used for in Slime Rancher 2?

Silky Sand is used to craft upgrades and unlocks at the Fabricator located in the Conservatory. The most notable recipe that uses Silky Sand is the one for the Extra Tank upgrade. This upgrade allows players to carry a whole stack of an additional item in their vac. This is one of the better upgrades in the game, so be sure to keep an eye out for this Sand as it's the most difficult part of the recipe.
