Plenty of nodes, rocks, and other valuable materials are scattered around the world in nooks and crannies. However, you won't be able to harvest them with your Vacpack until you upgrade it with the necessary power.

The first step to collecting all those goodies is to head to the lower level of the Conservatory and open your Fabricator. You will want to get the first upgrade for the Resource Harvester, which allows you to break any nodes in the world and collect the resources from them.

Once you have your upgraded Vacpack, head into the wilds and look for any rocks, minerals, nodes, and other materials clinging to the rocky hillsides, in caves, etc. Then, you can use your Vacpack to break loose the resources from them by holding M2 on your PC or Left-Trigger on your console controller. This won't automatically harvest the resources, so be sure to look on the ground for any items that have dropped from the node and suck them up to an empty tank with your Vacpack.

What are nodes & rocks for in Slime Rancher 2?

These resources found around the map are very valuable to your gameplay, allowing you to upgrade your gear, create new gadgets, and make things easier as you advance. Like the Resource Harvester, other upgrades enable you to get around faster, have more room in your tank, and more. You will need all the materials you can find to progress.

Slimes are extremely important in the world of Slime Rancher 2, but there is much more to discover that is equally as important. There are plenty of other items in the world, from food to feed your slimes with, to resources to upgrade and create new equipment. Leave no stone unturned as you venture into the wilds and bring back valuable items to your Conservatory.
