How to complete the Best Defense challenge in Sonic Frontiers

Sonic Frontiers is unique among Sonic games for its constant new gameplay challenges. There's a new test of skill around every corner and some really unique moments. One of the challenges Sonic must undertake to free Knuckles requires taking on some difficult foes in a limited time.

Beating the Best Defense challenge in Sonic Frontiers

This challenge immediately follows the second Koko Roundup. After gathering the friendly guys for Knuckles, a cutscene will show off four massive Tower Guardians, who threaten to attack. Sonic will have to destroy all four of them in 60 seconds to complete this challenge.

Towers could take ages to defeat if you don't know the proper strategy. Attacking their segments is pointless, you need to destroy their heads. When a Tower is planted in the ground, you can run up the side of its body and reach its head immediately. This is an essential strategy for beating these enemies within the time limit.

You'll have to run near a floating Tower to bait out its slam attack. Jump to avoid the wave of spikes it creates, then use the boost button to launch yourself onto its body. Sprint up the side, reach the head, and use the aerial ground pound attack to kill it instantly. Repeat this strategy for all four enemies.

As long as you can avoid the Towers' attacks, climb up quickly, and use the instant-kill smash attack, you'll clear this with time to spare. Don't waste your time on inefficient strategy, just do what works.
