How to upgrade all Sonic’s Stats in Sonic Frontiers

Harder, better, faster, stronger.

In Sonic Frontiers, players will frequently find items and resources which they can collect to bump up Sonic's stats. With the vast stretches of land to cover and various enemies to battle, getting faster and stronger will be your key goal. There are four primary stats that you can buff, and those include speed, ring capacity, strength, and defense. This guide will tell you how to level up and upgrade these stats in Sonic Frontiers.

Improving your strength and defense stats will ensure you can battle harder enemies as you progress through the game. To increase your strength and defense, you will need to collect Seeds of Power and Seeds of Defense. Seeds of Power can be identified by their red color and distinct shape, which resembles a spiky heart. On the other hand, Seeds of Defense are cyan-colored and can be identified by their smooth spherical shape.

Seeds of Power and Seeds of Defense are found in the open world and can often be obtained as rewards for completing objectives, challenges, and mini-games. You can also obtain Seeds of Power and Seeds of Defense by purchasing them from Big the Cat's Trade Tokens offerings in exchange for Treasure Tokens or Gold Cards. Once you have obtained both seeds, interact with the NPC Hermit Koko. Upon doing so, they will take both types of seeds you have collected until that point and grant you additional strength and defense stats. Sonic's strength and defense stats are capped off at level 99.

Increasing Sonic's speed and ring capacity is also tied to collecting specific resources and trading them with an NPC, albeit with a different approach. If you wish to level up your speed, or ring capacity, you will need to collect Lost Kokos that can be found in certain areas of the map. Lost Kokos usually spawn in groups, therefore, if you find a Lost Koko in the wild, look around for more! Players can also purchase Lost Kokos from Big the Cat's Trade Tokens offerings in exchange for Treasure Tokens or Gold Cards.

Once you have collected at least 12 Lost Kokos, you can interact with the NPC Elder Koko. Upon interacting with Elder Koko, they will allow you to choose whether you wish to upgrade your speed or your ring capacity. Regardless of your choice, it will take 12 Lost Kokos each time to increase any of the stats. Sonic's speed and ring capacity stats are capped off at level 99.
