Whether or not you should buy Starfield is dependent on a number of factors. That being said, I would say if you are someone interested in space and RPGs, there's a good chance you'll get plenty of play time from it. You also need to own an Xbox or PC, since Starfield is not available on PlayStation or Nintendo consoles.

What to ask yourself before buying Starfield

Here's what you should ask yourself before picking up a copy of Starfield:

  • If you're playing on PC, consider your computer's specs. Make sure you'll be able to run a demanding game like Starfield.
  • For Xbox players, make sure you have enough storage or that you can make enough room by deleting old games. If you're on Xbox, consider waiting for the game to release on Game Pass on September 6, 2023.
  • In general, consider your personal circumstances. This includes your budget, available playtime, and anything else relevant to you.

Is Starfield Premium Edition worth it?

One of the biggest advantages of buying Starfield Premium Edition is that players will have access to the game a whole week earlier. In addition, Premium Edition also provides the Constellation Skin Pack for the Equinox Laser Rifle, Boost Pack, Spacesuit, and Helmet. Lastly, the upgraded edition of the game will also come with a digital artbook and soundtrack. Expect to pay USD$99.99 for the Premium Edition of Starfield.

Should you play Starfield on Xbox Game Pass?

The major benefit of playing Starfield on Xbox Game Pass is that you don't have to pay extra for the game separately if you already pay for Game Pass. Sadly, one of the major drawbacks to the Game Pass version of Starfield is that you miss out on all of the advantages of the Premium Edition of Starfield. This includes playing the game early on August 31, 2023, which is not included unless pay USD$34.99 to upgrade to the premium version.
