Where to find your parents in Starfield

With the Kid Stuff trait, you will have two living parents you can visit at any time you wish. However, it isn't all clear where exactly you will be able to find them but don't worry; we have the exact location for you (flip through the images below to follow along):

Your parents live in the city of New Atlantis on the planet Jemison, and it's not too difficult to find since it is one of the first places you will travel to following the main story. They are pretty well off, probably thanks to your contributions, in a luxurious apartment building, Pioneer Tower, in the southeast end of the Residental District. Once you get to the building, take the elevator titled "Family Apartments," and then it will be the first door on your right.

How to stop paying your parents in Starfield

Upon selecting the Kid Stuff trait at character creation, the 2% for your parents will be automatically deducted every week on in-game time. If at any time you wish to stop providing these contributions, you can speak to your parents and select the option to stop payments.

All Kid Stuff Trait Benefits in Starfield

While selecting the Kid Stuff trait during character creation, it may seem like there are no benefits for it, especially since you will be losing 2% of your earnings every week to pay them. However, there are some special rewards you can reap down the line that may just make it all worth it.

As you progress through the story, you'll run into random encounters and interactions with your parents, such as receiving various notes from them. These will often come with gifts and other special items you can keep. You will also be able to visit them at their house at any time, sleep in your childhood bedroom to regain health, and take any items from the house you may need.

Kid Stuff Special Weapons & Items

Some of the more unique items you can get from the trait can be collected from their house in Pioneer Tower or upon visiting them after receiving a note. Take a look at some of the best ones below:

High School Backpack

If you visit your parents in Pioneer Tower, you can enter your childhood bedroom. There on the floor, you'll find your old High School Backpack, which your mom has graciously stitched up for you. This backpack does provide some decent stats for your character if you equip it, the most beneficial stat being the extra capacity for you to carry more things.

Sir Livingstone's Pistol

You can receive this special gift from your dad after visiting them at Pioneer Tower for the first time, and your first automatic payment is transferred to them. They will visit you at The Lodge, where your dad will enthusiastically reward you with Sir Livingstone's Pistol to take along on your explorations.

Gran-Gran's Spacesuit & Helmet

After completing around five to six main missions, you will receive another note from your parents, delivered to you by Noel at The Lodge. They will ask you to stop back home once again to visit. You'll want to talk to your mom a few times until she brings up a conversation about your Grandma. After she does, she will reward you with a special family heirloom, Gran-Gran's Spacesuit and matching helmet.

Wanderwell Ship

Probably the most exciting and beneficial reward you can get from this background is the Wanderwell Ship. You will receive yet another letter from your parents after completing about six to eight main story missions. This time, Noel will suggest that it is an urgent request. Your parents will want you to visit them at Pioneer Tower, and once you do, they will announce that your dad has won big during a poker match. He wants to give you his reward, Wanderwell Ship, and you can access it at any time through the Ship Services Technician.

Each trait you choose will have special encounters and benefits to them that make each playthrough a unique experience. Not only do you get the pleasure of two loving, semi-annoying parents, but you can pick up some extra exclusive items along the way.
