Walking slowly due to encumbrance

You might also find yourself walking slowly or using energy up fast if you’re carrying too much weight. With so much loot to find, you'll need to keep an eye on what you pick up. To stop being encumbered, give items to your companion. All you need to do is start a conversation with them and give them some gear. You can always get it back from them later and sell it. Alternatively, you can dump gear off in your ship or transfer container if it is close by.

Finally, if you find encumbrance is a common problem, you can raise your carry weight limit. Some gear gives permanent boosts while equipped, including an increase to your carry weight (see image above). You should also consider putting some skill points into Weight Lifting, which has a similar effect.
