Stellar Blade is being prepared for imminent PC launch, developer has high sales hopes

Eve is about to let off some Steam, if you catch our drift!

Shift Up's Stellar Blade first debuted back in April 2024 as a PS5 exclusive, and the addictively fun dress-up ARPG went on to become a best-seller with over 1 million copies sold and solid reviews that praised its hyper-polished gameplay. With that success under its belt, Shift Up is now reportedly looking to bring its first-ever IP to PC very soon, with aspirations that it'll perform even better on that platform.

Stellar Blade came bursting out of the gate in the first quarter of 2024, quickly taking the title for best-selling game in North America after its April launch. While players embarked on their post-apocalyptic adventures with Eve, the clean-cut ARPG heartily boosted developer Shift Up's revenue, as the mobile-game developer reported that the game contributed $19 million to its coffers. This led to a record-breaking 65% increase in overall revenue for Shift Up this year as of Q2, and Stellar Blade has no plans to slow down whatsoever.

About a month after launch, the game surprised fans with its first content patch that added Boss Rush Challenge Mode and even more outfits to customize Eve with. On top of that, Shift Up has stated that they have even more DLC content (and even more outfits) planned for Stellar Blade, along with a full-fledged sequel.

While it may seem strange that subsequent updates for the game have yet to hit the circuit, it's likely due to a surprise leak that Stellar Blade is set to debut on PC in the near future. As posted by the ever-reputable 'Genki' on X (formerly Twitter), the game is not only set for an imminent PC release, but Shift Up believes it'll perform even better on its secondary platform.

While the game hasn't popped up on Steam yet, a PC port is reportedly all but set in stone, meaning that the IP will no longer be a PS5 exclusive. This will undoubtedly bolster the game's sales even more, as this new version of Stellar Blade will inevitably be introduced to mods. Given that the game's outfit system is one of its most popular elements, fans will be eager to add their own creations to Eve's expansive wardrobe.

Stellar Blade launched on April 26, 2024 and is currently available for PS5. Along with a playable demo, there are both Standard and Digital Deluxe editions available for purchase. Whether those same editions will reflect upon the game's PC launch remains to be seen, or if Shift Up will provide a unique, PC-exclusive edition with all-new items.
