Soul Breaking in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin does a large amount of damage, gives the player some nice I-frames, restores their MP, and raises their maximum MP. There are almost no downsides to using it, but at a certain point, the player's Abilities will outdamage Soul Break. To perform a Soul Break, players have to reduce an enemy's Break Gauge to zero.
Should You Always Break Enemies
When low on MP, Soul Break is one of the most useful ways of dealing damage and increasing the player's maximum MP. Once players have their MP at a comfortable level they can begin expending MP to deal damage to enemies with Combo Abilities and Magic. Advanced and Expert Jobs will be able to deal more damage consistently without having to rely on Soul Break. Soul Break does deal Break Damage to enemies in close proximity and can also slam enemies into the wall to for more damage.

How To Soul Break
Dealing enough Break Damage with parries, attacks, and Combo Abilities will deplete an enemy's Break Gauge. This is the bar underneath the health bar and some Jobs specialize in dealing more Break Damage than others. Once the gauge is depleted, a prompt will appear by the enemy that will read either:
- PlayStation 4/5: Circle
- Xbox One/Series S/X: B
