Where to find all Memories in Stray

There are 27 Memories to find in Stray. Five are Story Memories that will be found automatically as you progress through the story; these are the orange Memories. 22 of them are optional Memories you can find on your journey as you explore all chapters in Stray. Memories are not needed to complete the game but offer more insight into the world and backstory of B-12.

All 22 Memory locations in Stray are below. We've organized them by area and by the position they appear in the memory banks of B-12. You will automatically get the first Story Memory not far into the game after you have obtained B-12.

All Memory Locations in the Slums in Stray

All of the seven Memories in the Slums can be acquired straightaway. None of them are locked behind story progression.

To get the first Memory in the Slums, look in the direction the Guardian (the Companion in a red robe and staff) is looking, and head towards the red vending machine on the left.

Climb on top of it and keep climbing upwards. On the rooftop, turn left and continue jumping until you get to a metal slated roof. Leaning against a metal sign is a dead Companion and the first Memory.

Getting the second Memory in the Slums is the trickiest of all to get. You have to collect three Energy Drink cans, head to the Azooz at The Market Place (to the right of the Guardian Companion), and purchase the Ancient Relic, which is actually the second Memory in Stray.

To get the third Memory in the Slums in Stray, you need to head to the second floor in the bar/pub. The bar is located directly in front of the Guardian Companion. Keep running forward until you see another red vending machine with a Companion leading against it, with a red neon sign just after it. Go inside the building underneath the sign. Go left up the stairs, and on your left, underneath upside glasses on a table, is the third Memory.

The fourth Memory in Stray is easy to find. This Memory is located in Momo's bedroom, the apartment you need to go to in the Slums to progress the story, underneath the neon orange sign. Once in the bedroom, look at the back home poster on the wall to unlock the fourth Memory in the Slums in Stray.

The fifth Memory in the Slums is located on street level in Stray. From the Guardian Companion, head down the stairs directly in front of him and follow the right path. You should see a neon yellow light in front of you. Keep going past that and up the stairs. Examine the R.I.P Humans writing on the wall to get the fifth Memory.

To get the sixth Memory in Stray, face the Guardian Companion and go left, opposite the basketball. Head down the stairs and enter the alley just before the street musician Morusque. Climb on top of the green dumpster, and keep jumping upward, to get to the robot graffiti on the wall for the sixth Memory in the Slums.

To get the seventh and final Memory of the Slums, you need to enter the building of Elliot Programming. To find this place, head towards the bar from the Guardian Companion, but go past it going left. In front of you will be stairs leading up. You want to go right and find the first red door on your right.

Scratch on the door. It'll open, and quickly get inside before the Companion shuts it. Head up the stairs on your left where the neon red sign is, and at the top of the stairs on your left will be two plants, one on a chair and one in a toilet. Here is the final seventh Memory in the Slums in Stray.

How to get the first Memory in the Rooftops in Stray

To get the first Memory in the Rooftops in Stray, continue through the chapter until just after you have avoided your second encounter with Zurks. Carry on until you have to jump on a pipe and an air con unit to reach a new rooftop. Directly in front of you is a red neon sign. Interact with it to get the first Memory of the Rooftops.

To get the second Memory in the Rooftops, continue through the chapter until you cross a crane and have to knock over a piece of wood to get into the Neco Corp building. Carry on until you reach the second level and see a bunch of Zurks in a cage. From here, go to the right of the cell, keep going forward, and jump into the red goop of the Zurks. Here, you will find a sign saying Neco Corporations. Interact with it to get the second Memory of the Rooftops.

How to get the third Memory in the Rooftops in Stray

This is the second Story Memory you get after installing the Transceiver and the final one of the Rooftops in Stray.

To get the first Memory in Dead End in Stray is straightforward. After Seamus opens the gate, carry on until you can go left. Head past the van towards the shutter. On the shutter is the first Memory.

To get the second Memory in Dead End, you must progress the chapter until you crash and climb up some pipes not long after. Once you reach the top, carry on towards the metal wire mesh fence past the red barrel—do not go left; you'll see a gap in the bottom right corner you can go under. Follow the linear path to see a dead Companion and the second Memory in Dead End in Stray.

How to get the third Memory in Dead End in Stray

You must have found a way into Doc's house to get the third and final Memory in Dead End. On the first floor, you will find a mannequin with a bucket on its head. Interact with this to get the third Memory of Dead End.

To get the first Memory in the Sewers in Stray is missable, as you have to take a detour that is easily unnoticeable due to the presence of Zurks. Progress through the chapter until Momo opens the metal gate for you and leaves you alone. Enter the corridor with the Zurk Sacs on the wall. Navigate around these but keep an eye on the left, as the corridor will split. You want to head left, so zap the sacs in your way, and you'll see a drain entrance on your left. Climb in it, follow the pipe, and you'll find the second Memory for the Sewer in Stray.

The second Memory in the Sewers is missable due to the horror in the previous room. After you run for your cute little life, you'll be on some pipes. Head left, jump onto the smaller pipe on your left, then below onto the barrels. You'll once again head into a drain entrance, and the Memory will be just past it.

How to get the first Memory in Midtown in Stray

The first Memory is a Story Memory you will acquire automatically. It will be the fourth Story Memory you will obtain.

To get the second Memory in Midtown in Stray, head through the subway and up the escalator until you get onto the exit platform through the gap in the wire mesh fence. Immediately look right, and you'll see a small abode with a Companion inside. The second Memory is located to the left of this Companion.

The third Memory in Midtown is located behind the club. Exit the subway, turn right and right again to get to Midtown proper. Go directly forward past the van until you can go right down a dark alley with a red neon sign. Continue on until you see an orange sign in front of you. Jump on it, then on the air con unit, then onto the pipe.

From here, you want to go to the left slightly and jump on the metal roof in front of you. Then follow it over the wooden plank and to where the blue neon sign is. Hop onto air con units to head upward, and you'll see four glass bottles. Just past those to the right is the third Memory in Midtown.

To get the fourth Memory in Midtown, head back to the entrance as you're looking into the town, and head directly up the ramp on the right. At the Sentinels hologram, you want to turn right, past the yellow vending machine, and you'll see a white shop with a window you can enter on your right, before the red alleyway.

Enter the window, climb the ladder on the left, and enter the crawlspace. At the end of this crawlspace is the fourth Memory.

How to get the fifth Memory in Midtown in Stray

The fifth Memory can be easily missed in Midtown. It's very closed to where the fourth Memory is located. Exit out of the barbershop, go left, and then right, and you'll see a cafe area. Enter the food shop, jump onto where the pops are, and jump into the hole in the ceiling. Turn around and head towards the blue device on the wall for the fifth Memory in Midtown.

The sixth Memory is extremely missable as you only have one chance to get this in Midtown. It's inside the Sentinel Station, the lit-up yellow building next to the Sentinel hologram.

The door to this building only opens after you've obtained the Atomic Battery from the Neco Corp factory. All other times the door is closed, but once it's open, head inside and look at the picture on the wall for the sixth Memory in Midtown.

Like the sixth Memory, the seventh Memory is missable, and you have one chance to find it when in the nightclub in Midtown. Once you have climbed up and gained entry into the club via a window, head behind the bar and onto the grey dumbwaiter, and you'll go down a level.

Once the dumbwaiter has stopped, in the middle of the room, on a table is the seventh and final Memory for Midtown in Stray.

To get the first and only Memory in the Jail, you must first have rescued Clementine and B-12 and made it outside. After you have trapped the first Sentinel. You'll find the Memory on a dead Companion slumped on a green dumpster between the two fences. It's very difficult to miss.

And the final Memory you will get once you reach the final area as it is the last Story Memory of the game.
