Can you use your Custom Character in the Street Fighter 6 Open Beta?

Your avatar is a mirror of your deepest self... or something...

One of the biggest new features in Street Fighter 6 is the ability to create your own custom avatar to play in the game. With the open beta on the way, you might be wondering if you can use that newly made character of yours to jump into the brawl. If so, then you've come to the right place, because we've got all the info you need to know about it.

Are you able to use your CAC in the Street Fighter 6 Beta?

Upon logging into the beta, you're forced to create your own character before you can jump into any street fights. This is a promising sign, of course, but unfortunately, Capcom is only allowing players to run around the lobby as their character during the beta. There is no option to actually select your character once you're about to begin a match, which means you'll need to utilize the beta's pre-determined roster for the time being.

However, the good news is you will be able to use your custom character once the game is released officially. The even better news is you'll be able to transfer the character you create in the beta to the full game, meaning it isn't a waste of time at all to spend a huge amount of time in the game's impressive character creator.

When does Street Fighter 6 officially release?

Capcom has announced that Street Fighter 6 will be officially launching on June 2, simultaneously on PC and consoles. The game is cross-platform and contains rollback net code, which greatly reduces the effect ping has on matches taking place across the world. If the open beta is any indication of that quality, then Street Fighter 6 is looking to have a long healthy life in the fighting game community. I can't wait to see what kind of footsie nonsense players come up with this time around.
