Street Fighter 6 – How to unlock Classic & Alternate Costumes

The name's Bond...

While it's exciting to be able to take yourself into Street Fighter 6 via your own avatar, the series has lasted over the decades due to the enduring characters we've played over the decades. Whether you prefer Ryu, Chun-Li, or another of the returning characters, it's great to see they've all had a bit of a makeover. However, each character has a classic or alternative costume available in Street Fighter 6, so read on if you want to know how to unlock them.

How do you unlock Alternate and Classic costumes in SF6?

There are two ways to unlock the alternate costumes for each of the characters in Street Fighter 6. One is super simple but will cost you some real-world money, while the second is gratis, and the other game will make you work for it for free by grinding. The quickest way is to head to the Goods Shop and buy the alternate outfits for 50 Fighter Coins each, which is the game's premium (cash) currency. If you want to save your hard-earned, instead, you're going to need to build up your Bond with each of the characters.

How to max out Street Fighter 6 character bonds in World Tour mode

The single-player story mode for Street Fighter 6 allows you to meet and train with all the Masters, old and new. The more time you spend with them, the stronger your bonds with them will become. For each character you can get to the maximum Bond Level (100) with, you'll be given their Costume 2 for free. There are several ways to improve these character bonds:

  • Battling them: If you master a technique synonymous with a Master, they'll be willing to spar with you. Beat them to earn bond points.
  • Mastery Quests: Sparring with each Master will eventually open up a character-specific quest. Complete it for 10 more Bond points.
  • Giving them gifts: Points are available if you give gifts to each Master, with some gifts working better than others. But all should earn you at least one Bond point.
  • Conversation: Conversations you have with a Master can throw up dialogue choices, where right or wrong answers can award you some bonus Bond points.
