Aerogel is one of the most valuable resources in the Subnautica universe. The material is required to craft various essential advanced machineries like Prawnsuit, Water-Filtration Machine, Thermal Plant, and much more. To make Aerogel, you will need to place some Gel Sack and Rubies inside a Fabricator.
Finding Some Gel Sack
Gel Sack is a common edible species of flora found in the various deeps of Subnautica. It looks like a black rock with purple patches all over it. Here is a list of all the locations where it can be collected.

As mentioned before, apart from the Gel Slack, the other ingredient required to make Aerogel is the Ruby. They can easily be identified with their bright red shiny appearance. Also, they emit a slight glow from their bodies during the night.

Crafting Aerogel in Subnautica
After collecting both the materials, open your Fabricator and navigate to Resources>Advanced Materials> Aerogel. After crafting, Aerogel will be added to your inventory.
Remember, While Aerogel can be used to make several items, We recommend you make the Water Filtration System and Prawn Suit System as early as possible using it.
