How to set a Kill Bind in TF2

Do you have a self-destruct button?

Team Fortress 2 is one of the most popular team-based multiplayer games on the market. Even years after its release, it continues to pull in players every day, and even I hop on to the game once in a while to have some fun with my friends.

During these sessions, my favorite thing to do with my buddies in custom lobbies is blow myself up before they try to claim my kill. The best part is that the animation for killing your avatar varies each time, providing some hilarious gameplay moments. To self-explode or self-terminate yourself in TF2, you must equip a Kill Bind key from the Advanced Settings menu.

Remember, both commands will terminate your character instantly in the game. As the name suggests, the explode command will blow up your character, while the kill one will make your avatar take a gunshot or collapse instantly.

What is a Kill Bind in TF2?

As mentioned before, binding a key for killing or exploding your character on your demand in TF2 is colloquially called a Kill Bind.

What is the purpose of keeping a Kill Bind in TF2?

Apart from having fun in custom matches, the main reason why players keep a kill bind is to reset with their team much faster on larger/longer maps. For example, if you are a lone player in the middle and most of your teammates are respawning, it's better to kill yourself to spawn along with your friends to reset.
