Kate's life will hang in the balance in three different chapters, and your decisions will decide this character's fate. In Breathless, Kate and Erin are trapped inside two vacuum chambers, while the decision to save either rests with Mark and Jaime. You'll see both Kate and Erin passing out, and need to choose which character to save.

How to save Kate in Director’s Suite in The Devil in Me?
In the chapter Director's Suite, Kate, Erin, and Jaime decide to capture Grantham Du'Met. This is where Jaime offers a screwdriver to Kate. You can either take the screwdriver or let Jaime keep it. However, it holds little significance, it's best to give Jaime the screwdriver in this part of the storyline. Jaime acts as bait, and the narrative eventually develops into a critical decision. Jaime and Kate get trapped in a room with a hydraulic glass wall.
Key decision: If Jaime has the screwdriver, you need to choose the Defiant option, which says she won't play Du'Met's game. The glass wall collapses on Jaime, and she escapes by breaking it with the screwdriver. Alternatively, if Kate has the screwdriver, you need to select the Apologetic option as Jaime. The wall moves towards Kate, and after a brief cutscene, we see her escaping with the help of the screwdriver.
How to save Kate in Lake in The Devil in Me?
At the Lake, when everyone returns by boat, the perspective will change to each character, and you'll get to choose what to do with them. Kate comes across a crossroads where players can either attack Du'Met and save Mark or jump in the water, leaving Mark alone.
Key decision: Attack and save Mark, as this ensures Du'Met's defeat. Leaving Mark alone means he loses the fight with Du'Met and dies.
