The best public dungeons to farm in Elder Scrolls online for items and gold

Going for gold!

Clearing public dungeons is one of the best ways to farm items and gold in Elder Scrolls Online. Public dungeons have a low respawn time, contain a decent number of mobs, and the gold and item drop rates tend to be higher than in other locations. In terms of types of public dungeons, those with Imperial mobs tend to be the best in drop rate, speed, and quantity.

How can I farm items and gold in ESO?

To make this public dungeon farming a viable source of income versus time spent, you need a class able to do strong AOE damage, as you'll want to clear large numbers of weak mobs fast. And remember, it's not just gold drops themselves, but the items you can sell for a good profit, such as fragments. So, keep a close eye on the markets for what is selling well. With that said, you can find our list of the best public dungeons to farm in Elder Scrolls Online for items and gold below.

Vile Manse in Reaper's Marsh

One good run here can earn around 3k in total gold value, so the quicker you can clear, the better. Always make sure to turn on auto loot to speed through quicker and start with as clear an inventory as possible. Not great for items, but very fast gold.

Crimson Cove in Malabal Tor

Possible to get 30+k per hour in gold and items, while there's also a chance for bonus Spinner items, especially Spinner's Destro, that can be worth hundreds of thousands. The area is also good if you can solo Dolmens and the Siren boss.

Razak's Wheel in Bang'korai

Again, there's the potential for 30+k in loot drops, and there's the potential for Spriggan items. Spriggan armor and weapons are always in demand. It's generally a good area if you like grouping up, as it is a popular farming area.

If you want to mix it up to vary the grind, also consider Forgotten Crypts in Deshaan (possible Mother’s Sorrow drops), Rkindaleft and Old Orsinium in Wrothgar (Briarheart weapons in the latter), and Obsidian Scar in Rivenspire (Necropotence weapons).
