In Iron Oath, players will get the option to customize their company and select the difficulty level for the campaign mode. There are three difficulty presets and one Custom option that players can choose from before starting the campaign. The three difficulty presets in Iron Oath are Adventurer, Battle-Hardened, and Warlord. Each of these three presets represents levels of difficulty, with Adventurer being the easiest, and Warlord the toughest.
The Iron Oath difficulty levels, explained
Adventurer: This is the first difficulty preset and it's recommended for players new to turn-based tactical RPGs. Players start with 1500 coins, with fewer enemies that have less HP than other difficulties. Similarly, a new Time Modifier adds every 20 revolutions of the meters in Dungeons.Â
Battle-Hardened: This is the mid-tier difficulty option recommended for players with previous experience in the genre. You will start with 800 coins, injuries will recover at a slower pace, and the new Time Modifier adds every 16 revolutions of the meters in the Dungeons.Â
Warlord: This is the toughest difficulty in Iron Oath. Players start with only 500 coins, and enemies are the strongest at this difficulty. Injuries heal at the slowest pace, and more Elite enemies show up during difficult missions. The new Time Modifier adds every 14 revolutions of the meters in the Dungeons.
Custom: The Custom difficult option allows players to customize the following elements of the game:
- Starting Coins
- XP Rate
- Injury Length
- Mercenary Sale Rate
- Reputation Earn Rate
- Renown Gain Rate
- Encounter Difficulty
- Enemy Health
