Total War: Warhammer 3 reveals Slaanesh Chaos Faction

It's time to get sadistic

With Total War: Warhammer 3 delayed until 2022, developers Creative Assembly have set about gently drip-feeding the community previews and trailers to keep their fans satisfied. With the reveal of factions like Kislev and Cathay, it was clearly time for some of the more Chaotic armies to get introduced to the fray.

That's where today’s (Dec 8) reveal comes in. The forces of Slaanesh, one of the four Chaos gods, have been officially unveiled as a faction in the upcoming game. The news was revealed as Creative Assembly dropped a brand new trailer on the Total War YouTube channel.

The forces of Slaanesh are devoted to the pursuits of lust and desire, finding pleasure in the suffering of others. Their pink and purple color palette, monstrous creatures with uncomfortably long tongues, and armies dedicated to hedonism and debauchery.

Needless to say, fans are very excited about the inclusion of Slaanesh. While a few Slaaneshi units have made their way into the Total War: Warhammer games previously, and several armies and factions have referenced the Chaos god of Slaanesh. This is the first time many of their iconic units have made their way will be playable.

That means Daemonettes, Seekers, Reptilian Steeds, Fiends of Slaanesh, and of course, the Greater Daemon of Slaanesh, the Keeper of Secrets. According to various lore sources, the Keeper of Secrets “knows the most intimate desires of every mortal being, and will use this horrific knowledge to gain power over its foes.” How this will play out in Total War: Warhammer 3 remains to be seen, but it’s certain to be horrifying—but very satisfying to play.
