Streaming content, be it gaming or just talking to your webcam, isn't always the simplest prospect. Sure, it's gotten a lot easier over the years thanks to the teams behind OBS and Twitch, but problems can still arise, especially when connecting the two services.
How to resolve OBS Error with Twitch
There are a few things to consider when it comes to this issue because they can be caused by a variety of problems. To make sure everything is okay with Twitch and your own software, check to see if there's an issue with Twitch's services. The quick and easy way to do this is through the official Twitch Status page. If there is an issue on Twitch's end, hang tight until it's resolved. If this isn't the problem make sure OBS is up to date. This can be done by launching OBS, selecting Help from the menu bar along the top, and then Check for Updates. Finally, if connecting with a stream key, instead connect with your Twitch account directly. This can be done by selecting File, Settings, and Stream.
The first possible issue is likely the most common as OBS is a program that acts locally until it needs to interact with an outside source like Twitch. If Twitch is unresponsive, that will translate to an error with OBS.
