How to transfer saves to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection

For those adventurers who don't want to start over.

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection brings the final adventure of Nathan Drake, and the first solo outing for Chloe Frazer, together into one action-packed next-gen bundle. Naughty Dog has announced that players who played Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will have the ability to transfer the progress that they had made to the remastered versions. Here is how to transfer your saves to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

The first step in getting your save data transferred to the Legacy of Thieves Collection is making sure that you actually have Save Data for either of the two PS4 games on your PS5 console. If you have played Uncharted 4, or The Lost Legacy on your PS5 via backward compatibility, then those saves are already on your PS5, and you can skip to just transferring the save into the Legacy of Thieves Collection. If you only played those games on your PS4, then follow the steps below to transfer that Save Data to your PS5.

Transfer Save Data from PS4 to PS5

Note: You will need an active PS Plus subscription to do this.

  • On your PS4, select your local user and go to Settings > Application Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Upload to Online Storage.
    • Select the title and then the file you would like to upload and select Yes to overwriting the cloud file.
  • Now on your PS5, go to Settings > Application Data Management > Saved Data in Online Storage > Download to System Storage.
    • Select Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and download the saved data.

Transfer Save Data into Legacy of Thieves Collection

Once your PS4 Save Data is on your PS5 console, you are now ready to transfer that Save Data to the Legacy of Thieves Collection by following the steps below.

  • Load up Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on your PS5. You can select either Uncharted 4, or The Lost Legacy from the menu.
  • Select Story and then the Import Game from PS4 Console option.
  • Select the game file that you wish to import from the list of save files that appears.
  • On the ‘Save’ screen, select New Game Data to create a save file for Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

So there you have it, following all of the above steps will let you pick up your adventure where you left off, as well as keep the trophies you earned so far. Though this time your adventure will take full advantage of the PS5's power, including the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller.

My name is Mason Moses. I am an entertainment aficionado, who spends more time consuming it than I would like to admit. I've been playing video games for the past 15 years and every time I turn one on, it feels like the very first time. Since I liked games so much, I decided that I would write about them.
