Crafting and resource gathering are key to survival games, and this is no different in V Rising. One way to utilize crafting in order to grab otherwise unobtainable resources is by fishing. Here is how to fish in V Rising.
How to make and use a Fishing Rod in V Rising
The first step is to craft a Fishing Rod. The Fishing Rod is only craftable from the Woodworking Bench, which means that if you do not yet have one of those, you will need to unlock its recipe. In order to learn the crafting recipe for the Woodworking Bench, players must first defeat the level 20 boss known as Rufus the Foreman. Upon his defeat, you will unlock the Woodworking Bench.
Once you get the Woodworking Bench all built, you are then free to take a look at what it costs to craft a Fishing Rod. In order to make a Fishing Rod, it will cost you eight Planks, four Copper Ingots, and four Coarse Thread. The Planks can be made at your Sawmill, the Copper Ingots at your Furnace, and you can find more than enough Coarse Thread out in the world.
Once you have your Fishing Rod, all you need to do is head to a Fishing Spot. A Fishing Spot can be identified by bubbles rising out of a pond or lake. Just head over to the bubbles and cast your line, then wait for the bubbling area to glow. Once this happens, pull your line back in by left-clicking, and the fish will be yours!
Fish can sometimes be found in chests, however, but that is quite uncommon. Now that you have your Fishing Rod and you know how to fish, you'll never have to worry about finding some fish again. You'll have a reliable source of fish oil and other important resources, too.
