Studio poncle of Vampire Survivors fame (and we all love them for it), have been working hard on changing up the pace and creating a new twist on the game - Vampire Crawlers! Compared to the top-down third person view of the original, we now get to experience it in first person, but that's not the only thing that's changed! If you're excited to find out what's to come with the upcoming spin-off, make sure to keep reading!
Vampire Crawlers has officially hit more than 170k Wishlists on Steam, and to further increase the hype, you can now check out not only the gameplay preview, but also the unedited gameplay footage for the first dungeon floor of the game.
Apart from the change in perspective, you'll also see that Vampire Crawlers is a turn-based deckbuilder where you'll use familiar abilities (King Bible supremacy!) from VS to clear dungeons. Don't worry, there will be a mini-map, for those of us who struggle with directions.
On top of the single-use and multi-turn abilities, you'll also acquire Relics throughout the maps. So far we've only seen one: Gem Hammer which unlocks the ability to add Gems to Cards (special modifiers). Another not fully explained mechanic is a Luck Upgrade, which we can see in the gameplay video (increased Luck unlocks a fourth reward for leveling up), but whether this will be acquired through Power-Ups, or specific character bonuses like in Vampire Survivors, we don't know yet!
We've only gotten a brief glimpse into some of the basic gameplay of Vampire Crawlers, but poncle will be announcing more about the game in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned to hear more about how you can customize cards and abilities, but also influence the RNG!
