Which are the best?

When creating your first character in Rogue Trader, you must select a Homeworld. Choosing a Homeworld is confusing, but luckily, our guide lists only the best Homeworlds in Rogue Trader.

Best Rogue Trader Homeworlds Tier List

You can select from six Homeworlds when creating a new character in Rogue Trader. Each Homeworld provides a set of features and talents for your character. Remember to choose wisely as your Homeworld selection can't be changed, even if you respec your character. Moreover, some Homeworlds are better than others, so here's a list of only the best.

Imperial Homeworld

Imperial Homeworld is the best option for Rogue traders if they use Dogmatic dialogue options. You should also consider choosing the Imperial Homeworld if you picked one of the following Origins:

  • Astra Militarum Commander
  • Ministry Priest
  • Navy Officer
  • Commissar

The Origins listed above are the best choices for a character from an Imperial Homeworld for lore reasons. Overall, Imperial Homeworlds are generally a well-rounded choice for any Origin. In short, the world grants a 10+ stat boost to one characteristic of your choice besides Ballstic and Weapon skills; the bonus can help boost any of the class stats, making it a solid option for any class you want to play.

You also can't go wrong with choosing an Imperial Homeworld because it doesn't give stat penalties. On the other hand, you are missing out on some of the more potent skills offered by other Homeworld options.

Forge World

Forge Worlds are a decent option for a tank or combat-focused character. Forge Worlds gives decent bonuses that grant Toughness, which grants more armor. Use the extra armor to stay in fights or divert fire to yourself. Forge Worlds are also suitable for long-range Operators if you choose the Analytics System Forge World buff. The Analtyics System buff boosts critical hit chance based on Intelligence, a core Operator Characteristic.

Fortress World

A Fortress world is a perfect choice for Soldier-type characters. Fortress worlds boost Willpower and Perception, the main stats for Soldiers. The talents Never Stop Believing and Familiar Kickback are excellent bonuses that buff soldiers' weapons and raise Willpower. You can also use the Spare Magazine talent to reload your soldier weapon quickly and lay down suppression fire.

Hive World

Hive Worlds are the Homeworld that Officers should consider picking for the bonuses to Fellowship. However, the penalty to Willpower could be a deterrent, but the bonuses to MP for allies comply well with the officers' buff skills and talents. You can also easily boost Willpower by putting some points into it, making the penalty less of a burden.

Void World

Void World is a solid option for Sanctioned Psykers who plan on choosing the Operator Archetype and leveling up into Grand Strategist at level 16. In short, Void World gives stat buffs to both core characteristics required by both Archetypes. The Be Smart talent also allows you to use Intelligence instead of Fellowship, making it a must for characters who rely on Intelligence.

Death World

Death Worlds are the best option for characters who rely on front-line combat. I recommend picking Warrior or Soldier to get the most use out of Void World stat boosts to Strength, Toughness, and Agility. The Talents to Brutal Hunter are also excellent for those classes if you use weapons that cause bleeding.
