Seasoning is only useful in Wartales: The Tavern Opens if you have decided to open a tavern. If you have bought and staffed a tavern and had seasoning in your usual inventory, it will now be shown in your Tavern instead and will disappear from your usual inventory. As long as you have seasoning in your Tavern when you begin a shift (which happens every time you camp), one Seasoning will automatically be used per Scullion to increase the value of the meals they create.

Seasoning you later find on your travels will stay in your inventory until you next check your Tavern menu (from the Camp screen). Any Seasoning will then be transferred to your tavern when you look at the menu - you do not need to physically visit the Tavern. Note that any companion with the Cook profession can be used as Scullion and then use Seasoning, but only in the Tavern (not in Camp).

Foraging for Seasoning in Wartales

Seasoning cannot be bought in markets or stores in Wartales: The Tavern Opens. It is a random bonus drop from any Flowers and Mushrooms you forage on your travels (as Resin is from Wood nodes). I have only ever seen one Seasoning drop from each flower node, regardless of region, but on the plus side, you do seem to get one almost every time from Flowers and regularly from Mushrooms.
