Best Towers in Watcher of Realms - Tiered List
We ranked all towers in Watcher of Realms based on their overall performance relative to cost. Keep in mind that you'll need to grind harder to get better units, as this is a gacha game. Of course, using codes for Gems, Summoning Crystals, and Gold will significantly aid in obtaining higher-tiered units, so be sure to get them.

SS Tier: Best Characters in Watcher of Realms
Aracha
Aracha is one of the most powerful Fighters in the game, capable of attacking both ground and airborne enemies. She excels at applying damage over time effects while providing crowd control, making her invaluable in virtually any encounter. Her versatility and high damage output easily place her among the best characters available.
Morrigan
Morrigan is a legendary Leader Mage with exceptional area-of-effect capabilities. Her ultimate ability can devastate enemy formations while her leadership bonuses significantly enhance faction-based team compositions. She's particularly effective when paired with other Shadowmere faction units.
King Harz
King Harz remains one of the top Leaders in the game, providing substantial bonuses to his faction while dealing impressive damage. His ability to boost ally performance while maintaining excellent personal combat effectiveness makes him a cornerstone of many high-tier team compositions.
Ingrid
One of the newest legendary additions to the roster, Ingrid brings powerful support capabilities combined with solid damage-dealing potential. Her unique skill set makes her particularly valuable in extended battles where sustained performance matters most.

S Tier Towers
Ghan
Ghan is one of the best Defenders in Watcher of Realms thanks to his powerful basic attack that deals area-of-effect damage to up to three different enemies. His Talent is especially useful because it allows his damage output to scale from his Defense, which increases by 2%, lasting for 15 seconds each time he takes a hit from enemies.
Calypso
Calypso is a great Marksman with the ability to deal piercing damage to a single enemy using her basic attacks. Also worthy of note is her Ultimate skill, Seal Stone, which boosts her attack damage by 20%. Better yet, you can even place up to four different Seal Stones, dealing up to 80% extra damage to targeted enemy units.
Cerberus
Cerberus is an excellent Fighter choice, with his basic attack dealing up to 210% Magical damage in an area of effect upon deployment. After doing so, he will summon Water of Decay at his standing location, which deals 40% area-of-effect damage to enemies surrounding him.
Boreas
Boreas brings some interesting freeze mechanics to the table as an Esoteria Order mage. What makes him stand out is how well he works with other ice-based characters - pair him with heroes like Marri or Ai and you'll see his potential really shine. His kit focuses on shutting down enemy healing while dealing solid damage, and his ultimate can potentially trigger twice in a row, which is always satisfying to watch.
A Tier Watchers
Iovar
Iovar is a recently released Marksman from the Piercer faction who excels at dealing consistent ranged damage. His abilities focus on precision attacks that can pierce through enemy defenses, making him particularly effective against shielded opponents.
Seraphina
Seraphina is a Mage who brings powerful magical damage along with useful utility effects. Her spell combinations can create devastating area denial while providing team support through various magical enhancements.
Magmus
Magmus is known for his talent, which allows him to apply Magma Burst to himself every seven seconds, stacking up to three times. Once he consumes one of his stacks, his next basic attack will deal 125% extra damage with an area-of-effect spread. Besides his primary feature, he lacks other distinguishable characteristics, especially compared to other fighters.
Rex
Rex is a strong defender who everyone starts with. He's reliable and suitable for stacking shields and dealing some damage to the enemy standing right in front of him. While not the flashiest option, his consistent performance makes him a solid choice for many team compositions.

B Tier Characters
Valkyra
Valkyra is a Fighter that offers interesting mechanics, such as the ability to make enemies Vulnerable using her basic area-of-effect attacks. She can extend her Ultimate range by one tile by consuming a Shield if one is applied at the time of the Ultimate activation.
Cyrene
Cyrene is a decent fighter who can also buff nearby allies' Crit Rate. She applies some crowd control and can deal decent damage thanks to fairly short cooldowns, though she lacks the raw power of higher-tier options.
C Tier Towers
Lili
Lili is an Epic Healer and, as such, has no actual basic attacks. Instead, she uses an ability to heal allies. She can also apply Thorny Protection, which reduces damage to allies by 30%, and increases her Healing Multiplier by 20% when healing allied units below 40% health, a threshold I find too low.
Daemon
Daemon is an Epic Fighter with a unique talent that significantly reduces the unit's revival time. The downside is that each time he uses the ability, his deployment cost increases by 4, but he also receives a damage increase of 10%, which can stack up to two times.
D Tier Units
Wagrak
Wagrak and other D-tier heroes have only two skills, which are pretty lackluster compared to higher-tier options. These characters typically serve as early-game placeholders until better units can be obtained through summoning.
Vladov
Vladov is an Epic, lycanthropic Fighter with a talent to increase his attack speed by 30% each time he takes damage. This ability lasts eight seconds and can stack up to five times. His Ultimate is quite interesting, as it allows him to gain 7% of his missing HP on each kill, making him an excellent tower for those starting.
Watcher of Realms Tier List FAQ
As a new player, you'll want to build a solid foundation rather than chasing the shiniest new toys. Begin with your guaranteed units, such as Rex, and focus on acquiring one strong character for each role. If you're willing to reroll your account, aim for one of those SS-tier powerhouses like Aracha or King Harz.
The meta shifts happen pretty regularly, usually every few months when major updates drop. New character releases tend to shake things up the most, but balance changes can also bump heroes up or down the rankings. I try to keep this list updated whenever significant changes occur, but the core SS-and S-tier heroes tend to stay reliable picks.
Waiting for perfect units can leave you stuck in early content forever. It's perfectly fine to invest moderately in solid A and B-tier heroes while you work toward the premium options. Just avoid going all-in on anyone below A tier unless they're literally your only choice for that role.
Your best bet is to stay on top of redemption codes for free resources and be strategic about which banners you summon. Focus your gems on rate-up events featuring the heroes you actually want rather than pulling randomly. The guild rewards can also help supplement your summoning budget if you stay active.
This is always a tough call, but generally, you should swap when you get a hero that's clearly multiple tiers above your current option in the same role. Also consider team synergy - sometimes a slightly lower-rated hero might work better with your specific lineup than a higher-tier character that doesn't mesh well with your strategy.
