Should you save Dean Stillwater at Greenwood Run in Weird West

Should you save Dean?

Early into your journey in Weird West, you will track footprints to Greenwood Run, where you will have to take on the Stillwater gang. In one of the rooms in the camp, you can come across Dean Stillwater, who is injured and claims to only be in the gang for money. He will ask you for a bandage to save him, but should you save Dean Stillwater at Greenwood Run?

Giving Dean Stillwater a bandage will reward you will a stash marked on your map, a +5 Reputation boost, and Dean Stillwater as a Friend for Life. There is a bandage nearby, or one can be found travelling deeper into camp. The quest does have a time-limit of one day, so it is best not to leave before helping him.

There seems to be no bad consequences for helping him and having him as a Friend for Life can be very helpful. This early into the game, Dean Stillwater may be your first Friend for Life. A Friend for Life has a chance of coming to your aid in times of trouble, so Dean Stillwater may pop up to help you take down enemies on occasion.

Not helping Dean Stillwater does not seem to lower your reputation, but he will not be able to help you in trouble in the future. Since there are bandages lying around at Greenwood Run, it is a good trade-off to exchange one for great rewards.
