In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, items that drop have a number of powerful effects on them. These effects are random, but they can give you a powerful boost to your core stats, depending on your Virtues and build. However, these powerful effects being random can be somewhat problematic in that there is a lot of room for error if you're looking for specific stats. Thankfully, Wo Long solves this problems with the Embedment System. Looking to spice up your build? Look no further. Here's everything you need to know about the Embedment System in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
How does the Embedment System work in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty?
The Embedment System allows you to modify the stats on a piece of gear to your liking. This system is powerful, in that almost every single stat can be changed or removed on your gear. Gear drops have variable attribute slots depending the rarity. Because of this, it is common to get stat attributes you do not want. The Embedment System solves this issue as well.
To begin, you'll need to head to Blacksmith Zhu Xia located in the Hidden Village and click the Embedment option upon talking to her. Doing so will open your inventory. Select any item in which you desire to add or remove stats, then click the Choose Embedding Slot option. Embedding Slots are the lines of stats on your weapon. For example, if your weapon is a basic four star, then it has four Embedding Slots for stat modification. Click one one of these slots to start the Embedding process.

If the slot you clicked on already has a stat in it, then you can choose to remove it for future Embedding. Some powerful stats must be banked to be used during Embedding. If the slot has one of these power stats, then removing the stat through the general process with automatically bank it for you. In addition, signature stats on gear, or stats that are always associated with that piece of gear, cannot be removed via Embedding.
If the slot you clicked on is empty, then a different menu will present itself. A large list of stats will be shown on the left side of the screen. These stats are options that can you pick to be Embedded onto gear. Stats that are lit up can be Embedded without issue. However, if the stats are dimmed out, then you are missing some prerequisite requirements.
Typically, Embedding requires Jewel Fragments to complete. Jewel Fragments can be easily obtained by removing stats from gear, or through salvaging gear. However, if you find you have all the Jewel Fragments you need, yet still cannot affix a certain stat onto a piece of gear, there are a number of possible reason for this.
If you look at gear stats carefully, you may notice that each stat has a strange symbol to the left of their description. These symbols act as limiters on how many of that type of stat you can have on a single piece of gear. Generic stats, stats with a white circle, tend to not have limitations due to their limited power, but every other type of stat does. Be sure to take note of these symbols and plan your gearing and Embedding process accordingly.

The other likely reason that you cannot affix a specific stat is that you do not have that stat banked. Basic and moderately powerful stats tend to only need Jewel Fragments to affix. However, strong, impactful stats require you take that stat from a dropped piece of gear first. As mentioned earlier, this is stat banking, is an absolute requirement to affix some of the strongest stats in the game to your gear.
All of this is the core of the Embedding process. The loop is simple: Find gear, strip off desired stats, then affix those stats to your own gear. You'll be spending a lot of time cycling this loop if you're interested in filling out your gear with the stats your build needs.
