You may like the old system better.

The new pin system in WWE 2K22 requires you to button mash to escape a pin. However, if you miss the old WWE pin system, can you change the pinfall system in WWE 2K22?

Yes, the pin system can be set to either button-mash or timed. The button prompt will stay the same, so to escape the pinfall, you will still press X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox).

How to change the Pin System

Scroll to the Options tab and select Gameplay. Scroll down to Pin Minigame and switch it to the one you prefer. Try out both and see which one feels the best to you.

Both pin systems become more difficult as you take damage, but each has different challenges. The button mashing pinfall system may feel more like a struggle, but it may get tiring and take a toll on your buttons. The timed classic system only requires one button press per referee count, but you have to time it well. The timed system definitely requires more skill, but timing the button press well can get you out of the strongest pins.
